The work "Personal Data" is a study that focuses on the protection of personal data, as it is safeguarded both in the Greek legal order and in the European and international arena, especially in light of recent relevant legislative changes, culminating in Regulation 2016/679, which will replace the existing Directive 95/46/EC from May 2018.

The book analyzes and evaluates the key concepts and principles of personal data processing, the obligations of the data controller and the corresponding rights of the data subject, data file interconnection, and cross-border data flow, as well as the supplementary regulation of electronic communications, given that the protection of personal data is of crucial importance due to the inexhaustible technological capabilities of processing them.

The work is not limited to the field of scientific research, but aims, through the clear and systematic arrangement of the relevant material and the presentation of numerous practical examples and codified legislation, to serve as a useful handbook for those who process the personal data of others, for those to whom the data being processed belong, and for those who are called to apply the relevant legal rules in judicial and administrative proceedings.
