The processor was purchased in the summer of 2017, three months after it was released on the market. For about 6-7 years, it has been running satisfactorily for me at 1080p, playing games like Witcher 3, GTA V, RDR2/RDR Online, WoW, SWTOR (running with GTX 1060 6gb), and so on - generally not very heavy games and with custom graphics settings for each game. In the background, I run Discord, 6-8 tabs on Google, and the maximum temperature with the processor's native cooler is 55°C. It has been 6 years of daily use like I described, and there are no issues with temperatures, performance, or anything. At the current price of €180 on Skroutz, I think there are better options available (Ryzen 5 5600/5600x), but if you find it on sale, go ahead and get it without worries.

Because I am not a professional, I have used two other processors, I don't know if it is the best one. However, I play games for several hours a day and do other things besides that, and it does them very quickly. It has never crashed on me. I didn't buy it new, but used, and even in this condition, it works perfectly. The temperature doesn't satisfy me, but that's because of the space I have it in, almost inside a "closet," so I will need another cooler. If you wanted to do a build but new with today's prices, it would be one of your best options if you don't want to spend a fortune on a computer.

We used it in a build that you can see here: https://youtu.be/9bAkwQLPwbQ

    - For the 125 euros we got it, it still has a pretty good value even though in some stores you can find the 1600 AF for the same price, which is almost the same as the 2600 and therefore better.
    - At the time of writing this review, half of the stores that have the 1600 available actually have the 1600AF and vice versa, so caution is needed.
    - The "plain" 1600 that we used for 125 euros is a good value as it costs almost as much as the Intel i3 10100, but it fits in cheaper B450 motherboards and can take advantage of faster RAM while also being better in overall performance.
    - At 140+ it's not worth it because the 10400f is better, but again you will need to pay extra for a motherboard with a better chipset in order to use RAM faster than 2666MHz, which is supported by the H410.

Awesome processor for the money it asks, which is 120€, meaning great value for money. I decided to get it during the quarantine because I needed to set up a PC, and during this period where prices have gone up, I believe it is still worth it for the money, especially with RAM running at 3200mhz. 5/5 stars

I have this processor since 25/6/18, which I found for 190 euros, and after a friend advised me to choose it during a period when I wanted to build a medium range PC.

Today, 18/5/21, with its price at 120 euros, I would buy it again.

It has proven to be a very good choice and value for money for a medium range PC.

Another great mid-range CPU from AMD that has excellent multitasking capabilities and is very good for gaming with even a high-end graphics card like the 2070 Super. I use it for gaming and online learning and it never lags! Additionally, the included cooler is quite satisfactory and keeps the processor at very satisfactory temperatures

There has been a transition from an overclocked (4.5GHz) AMD FX 8150, and I can say that the difference is very noticeable.
Of course, in 2021, the first generation Ryzen seems a bit outdated considering that there are much more value-for-money options from both AMD and Intel, but for its price, it is very good.
Note: If you combine it with a chipset lower than B450, I recommend getting a cooler for the VRM, as in a case with moderate/poor airflow and long rendering (Blender), it will experience VRM throttling or even worse, it will cause damage to the motherboard

Diamond this market sincerely. 2 years I have this processor in my possession and it still runs perfectly the games I play as well as the applications I use. Also, when I open programs simultaneously and other processes, it does not freeze at all, it has not created any problem for me absolutely and for its money it is more than satisfactory. I also have friends who have this product and are also very satisfied.

After about 2 years, I can say that it is an excellent processor. It has not shown any signs of fatigue even with 3-4 visual studio, SQL management studio, Spotify, slack, word, excel, outlook, and of course chrome open, without mentioning what is running in the background.
My machine has 24GB of RAM, an old graphics card, and an NVMe PCI disk

Overclock at 3.8GHz with 1.33750v. I couldn't stabilize it at 3.9 even with 1.45v. Stock cooler is very good, of course in combination with good thermal paste and airflow. It still remains a very reliable processor that can do everything even today.

The processor doesn't lag, it is suitable for any use and can run even the newest games (of course, there are better ones out there, so don't expect to run everything at 100 fps with maxed out graphics). I have paired it with 12gb of RAM and the RX 590 and I have no complaints about any game. The price of 107 euros justifies it, but for an extra 10-15 euros, you can get the 2600 which has slightly better performance

I am the owner of the AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor for over 3 years now and it has not given me a single blue screen during many hours of gaming and video editing. I did not expect this performance when I first got it, but after three years, I can highly recommend any Ryzen processor. I should note that my system has 32GB of RAM running consistently at 4000 MHz, an Asus Prime X470 Pro motherboard, and the processor stays cool with a Deepcool liquid cooler.

Note: I just purchased the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, but it will have comments in a little while!

A detail should be noted regarding this processor:

On the labels, you will notice that it is listed as both YD1600BB-AE-BOX and YD1600BB-AF-BOX. The "original" Ryzen 1600 AE is manufactured on 14nm, while the AF version is made using an improved 12nm process. There is also a relevant mention on AMD's official website:
"It has since been refreshed to OPN# YD1600BBAFBOX, which has identical specifications except that it is made on the 12nm manufacturing process."

I give it 5 stars, mainly because it remains competitive even 2+ years after its release.

    - Update (06/04/2020): The AF version is now sold separately here:
    https://www.skroutz.gr/s/22065660/AMD-Ryzen-5-1600-AF-Box.html

  • If there is someone looking for an alternative to the 2600, they should get this little monster. It has a powerful processor and almost zero multitasking usage! The only small issue was that its fan requires a lot of pressure and a method to fully attach it.

I have had it here for about a month. Very good for its price, which is a fact. The truth is that I would have gone for the 2600, but I was on a limited budget and couldn't. Anyway, compared to my previous PC (which was a laptop from 2010), I can't believe how much of a difference this one has. I paired it with 2 dimm HyperX Predator 8GB DDR4-3000MHz (HX430C15PB3/8) and they work quite well together. I also benchmarked it specifically on Cinebench R15 (with the MSI GeForce GT710 1GB LP) and it gave me:
    Single Core Rendering: 147pts
    MultiCore Rendering: 1125pts
I can say it performed quite well and in practice, it was quite fast. The temperatures with the cooler it has didn't go above 65oC. So, it handles cooling excellently, it's just that the fan it has is a bit noisy, which is normal considering the cooling it provides. Overall, it's great.

I don't play heavy games because of low RAM on my graphics card, and because I don't need a console, I want it for internet various programs, to watch movies and other logical things on my computer. I have a big case with many fans and I don't have space and temperature issues (it's good to have a big case) with 8 RAM the next upgrade will fly and I will play whatever I want, as for the price it's very good, add the Cryorig H7 cooler worth 35 euros to keep the processor cool.

  • I recently got it in a forced (due to dead hardware) upgrade, and all I have to say after a few days of using it is that it is the most value-for-money processor I have ever bought!

I paired it with the Asus Prime X370 Pro and these memories https://www.skroutz.gr/s/7730092/G-Skill-RipjawsV-16GB-DDR4-3200MHz-F4-3200C16D-16GVKB.html. After 2-3 days of overclocking, I managed to stabilize it at 3.9GHz with the stock cooler (I will get the dark rock pro 4 in the future for even higher overclocking), running the memories at 3000Mhz with tight timings (14-16-17-28 CR1). In conclusion, the PC has come back to life, you feel the fast response in everything you do, whether it's browsing with 20 tabs and other programs open or playing games.

I am eagerly waiting for the Ryzen Zen 2 to come out so I can make the upgrade I wanted from the beginning! ;)

The best value for money processor! Pure (CPU only) 6-core processor with overclocking capability, Intel is losing ground with the cheap and efficient products that AMD produces, I recommend it blindly.

Update: It lost the top spot in terms of value for money, now my estimate puts the Ryzen 5 2600 at the top.

    CAUTION for beginners:
The processor, because it is a pure CPU and not an APU (meaning it only contains a central processor and not a graphics processor), MUST be accompanied by a graphics card (GPU) otherwise the computer will not function.

The best value for money processor, as it not only offers incredible performance but also comes with one of the best integrated CPU coolers. The "little brother" Ryzen 5 2600 surpasses it in performance, but not by a huge margin. When I bought it, there was a price difference of 40 euros between them, so I preferred the 1600.

P.S.: It is also important to note that the 2600 comes with a worse stock cooler than the 1600.
