Dear reader, the book you hold in your hands, “Great and Holy Lent”, is divided into three parts.

The first part includes the hymns of the Sundays of the Triodion, from the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee to Palm Sunday. Of course, we could not omit the kontakions that hymn the Most Holy Theotokos.

This book includes the first four Fridays, where the Akathist Hymn is chanted in parts. The celebration of the fifth Friday, that is, the entire 24 odes of the Akathist Hymn, is found in the book “The Akathist Hymn - The Salutations of the Theotokos”, published by “Malliaris-Paideia”.

In the third part of the book, we provide an alphabetical list of saints - the calendar of the Orthodox Church, a monthly calendar, a Paschal table for calculating the date of Easter and the movable feasts of Orthodoxy, as well as the fasting periods.

Finally, we would like to thank those who contributed to the completion of this book, and especially Mr. Damaskinos Kazanakis, who wrote the introduction, as well as the introductory notes for the Sundays of the Triodion.
