Samothrace continues to evoke awe and mystery from antiquity to this day.

The island is located in the northeastern Aegean and has been known since ancient times as the "Sacred Island." Just below the peaks, one can discern the grooves that are just beginning to form, through which water is collected in the large mountainous valleys.

This water continues its journey to the sea, thereby creating the island's gorges.
