Description

The book: Psaris, the gray horse, can’t find peace from the annoying horseflies. Nor can Doris, the red horse. They swish their tails to drive them away! But they are… there! “There are so many that one must have two tails,” sighs Doris. “But where can we find two tails?” he then thinks. “Easy!” says Psaris. “You’ve given me an idea!” and he devises a plan in no time. How nice it is now without the horseflies biting them! But how did they manage to keep them away? “The two tails” is an adaptation of a story once told by grandmother. The series: In order to ensure that children have a healthy social life grounded in effective relationships, they must cultivate empathy, the ability to put themselves in someone else’s shoes, to understand and feel things the same way another person does. This need is addressed by the illustrated books in this series, which promote emotional intelligence. With the suggested approach for parents and educators, they attempt to introduce children to see the world through the eyes of others, once they first learn to recognize and manage their own feelings. The series "Books that Promote Emotional Intelligence" consists of 30 books. The author: Yolanda Tsoroni-Georgiadi is a graduate of the Law School, the Pedagogical Academy, and the Pedagogical Department of the University of Athens, and has received further training at Marasleio Teaching College. She worked for many years in public education, writes articles for educational journals, volunteers in organizations for the promotion of literature, is an active member of the Women’s Literary Society, and has published many books for children and studies of folkloric content.
