Once, many years ago, Christ, the Son of God, was born, who came to earth out of love for mankind, to save him from his sins and grant him eternal life. The story of Christ's life was written by the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) in the Gospels, and thus it has reached our days and we know it today.

The entire life of Jesus, His teaching, His miracles, His Passion, His Resurrection, and His Ascension are written in the four Gospels. Especially in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, we read details about the story of the birth of Jesus.

In the following pages, you will read about Christmas as we learn from the Holy Scriptures of the New Testament, the Holy Tradition, and the traditions of our people that have been passed down from generation to generation.

Athina Dasiou Giannou is a graduate kindergarten teacher from the University of Athens and an English teacher. She knows three foreign languages and music. She has been a radio producer for years at the Radio Station of the Church of Greece, with historical, religious, and educational-interest programs, and she actively participated in the catechetical work of the Holy Church of Saint Barbara in Ilioupoli.

She is engaged in writing children's books and translating foreign works into Greek. She has been awarded multiple times in national competitions and is a member of many literary associations. She loves the way children's eyes see the world, and she considers the best reward to be the smile of children when they read her books.

She is married to Colonel Engineer of the Hellenic Air Force Georgios Giannou and they have three children.
