[...] We were forced to divide this work into two parts, recording in the first part those saints for whom we have the date of their celebration and are honored by our Holy Church, and in the second part those for whom either they have not yet been officially canonized or we do not have the date they are honored. The latter includes those who were celebrated in the past but have been forgotten over time, especially in Russia, where during the atheistic regime, some of the temples dedicated to them were demolished and others were forbidden to be honored in their memory. This of course applied to the lesser-known saints or those who were celebrated at a local level. In the cases of the great Russian saints, such as Basil, etc., the communist regime could not remove the warmth from the hearts of the faithful Russian people.
In some cases, the researchers of this work may find some of the Russian saints with the date of the old calendar. This happens because we obtained information from Russian synaxaries and books, where both dates are not mentioned, as the Russians follow the old calendar. In cases where this was clarified or could be understood by the writer, the corresponding change was made. Therefore, where someone is looking for a specific saint and does not find him on the date they know, they can find him with a difference of 13 days.
