"The Great Journey" is a book that describes the incredible journey of a mobile dentist throughout the history of Greece.

This mobile dentist traveled alongside the struggles of a Nation, from the Crimean War, the campaign in Asia Minor and the Saggario River, to the places of exile in Ikaria and Makronisos.

Its final destination was my Dental Clinic. Its operators were two unknown innocent iconic figures of Dentistry, Asterias Doukoudakis and Nestoras Zoidis. Searching through military archives, relevant texts, and documents from my personal collection, I verified the events, and the fairy tale that I knew since I was young (from my grandfather's stories) became a wonderful story.

For me, this was the most beautiful journey of my life.
