Two identical cards were purchased today, August 12, 2020, for €10 each, to be used in a 1080p@50fps video camera with a sampling rate of 80Mbps and a mobile phone with 4K@30fps recording. Looking for a fast and reliable memory card, and after reading reviews and evaluations from various websites, I found the Samsung Evo Plus 64GB. At €10, it is a great value for money with such capabilities.
- As stated by the manufacturer, the card is water-resistant (up to 72 hours in seawater), resistant to strong magnetic fields (MRI), electromagnetic fields (X-rays), and high temperatures. I won't test it under these conditions to avoid risking data loss, but it is a positive feature of the card.
- The packaging indicates U3 and a read speed of up to 100 MB/s and write speed of up to 60 MB/s. However, when practically tested on a new laptop with an i5 8265U processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, integrated card reader, and Windows 10 2004, it achieved the following results on CrystalDiskMark with 5 tests of 1GB: Read Seq Q32T1: 35 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 5.7 MB/s, and Write Seq Q32T1: 30 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 2.98 MB/s. In a second test on a modern desktop computer with a USB 3.0 card reader, it achieved the following results on CrystalDiskMark with 5 tests of 1GB: Read Seq Q32T1: 92 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 7.3 MB/s, and Write Seq Q32T1: 70 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 3.2 MB/s. In the second benchmark, it surpassed the advertised numbers and can easily handle recording even 4K videos. It is important to note that MB/s and Mbps of sampling rate are not the same. Assuming the laptop benchmark is accurate, with a read speed of 35 MB/s and a write speed of 30 MB/s, it means it can write at up to 240 Mbps (30 MB/s x 8), which is a good number. If we consider the second benchmark more reliable, as it is from a USB 3.0 card reader on a desktop computer, it can write at 70 MB/s or at a sampling rate of 560 Mbps (70 MB/s x 8). This means it can easily record 4K videos on cameras, action cameras, or mobile devices.
It could be used in a dash car camera or surveillance cameras, but it may not withstand such intensive use for a long time. It is intended as a budget solution for mobile phones, action cameras, handycam camcorders, and general equipment that does not continuously record 24/7 onto the card. There are more expensive cards (endurance type) available for such purposes.
This card has impressive speeds that can satisfy even a professional. As for durability, I don't know how it compares to a Sandisk Extreme Pro.
When it comes to memory cards, it is important to focus on the write speed rather than the read speed, as this is what matters when recording videos and aiming for high quality. Many cards, as well as USB flash drives, only mention the read speed on the packaging, so a quick internet search can help you find what suits your needs.
It promises 10,000 mating cycles and has EMC certifications: FCC, CE, VCCI, NATA.
Depending on the card reader (old or new, whether it is USB 2.0 or USB 3.0, and if it has the latest drivers) or the benchmark settings, the speed may vary based on whether it is tested with 50MB, 100MB, or 1GB samples. The speeds can vary, so let's not be absolute. These were the numbers I obtained by running the benchmark on two modern computers with different card readers, using the latest updates and drivers, without any other processes running in the background, and using CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2 x64 with 5 tests on a 1GB sample.
In the laptop, even though it is a new generation, the built-in reader performed as a USB 2.0 reader, but on the desktop with a USB 3.0 card reader, it delivered its true speed and met the advertised specifications, a very decent card.
- If you want it for recording 4K, prefer the version with 128GB, not because this one is bad, but to have more space since 4K takes up a lot of space. However, check the video's mbps that the camera writes to ensure it covers your needs.
- The adapter it comes with is very good, as well as the 10-year warranty.
- I also have a Samsung SSD on my PC (TLC technology), and it is very fast and reliable. I want to believe that the memory card will withstand read-write cycles and maintain the same speeds it had on the first day.
Update April 22, 2024: It works flawlessly on both of my devices.
A very good purchase, worth getting at this price. I am satisfied, especially since it is the only distinguishable one with many positive reviews on Skroutz. I will reevaluate it over time with use.
Αγοράστηκαν 2 ίδιες κάρτες σήμερα 12 Αυγούστου 2020 στα 10Ε για να τοποθετηθεί σε βίντεοκάμερα λήψης 1080p@50 fps με ρυθμό δειγματοληψίας τα 80Mbps και σε κινητό λήψης 4K@30 fps. Ψάχνοντας μια γρήγορη και αξιόπιστη κάρτα μνήμης και σε reviews και από αξιολογήσεις από πολλά sites βρήκα την Samsung Evo Plus των 64GB. Στα 10Ε είναι value for money με τέτοιες δυνατότητες.
- Η κάρτα όπως αναφέρει ο κατασκευαστής έχει αντοχή στο νερό (72ώρες σε θάλασσα), σε μεγάλα μαγνητικά πεδία (MRI), ηλεκτομαγνητικά πεδία (ακτίνες Χ) και υψηλές θερμοκρασίες δεν θα την δοκιμάσω σε αυτά για να μηντο ρισκάρω να χάσω αρχεία αλλά είναι ένα θετικό στην κάρτα.
- Στη συσκευασία της αναφέρει U3 και read speed up to 100 MB/s και write up to 60 MB/s όμως πρακτικά δοκιμασμένη σε καινούργιο λαπτοπ με i5 8265U / 16gb ddr4 ram στο ενσωματωμένο card reader και windows 10 2004 έδωσε στο CrystalDiskMark σε 5 δοκιμές του 1GB σε Read Seq Q32T1: 35 MB/s , 4KiB Q8T8: 5,7 MB/s και σε Write Seq Q32T1: 30 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 2,98 MB/s και σε δεύτερη δοκιμή σε σταθερό Η/Υ νέας γενιάς με card reader σε USB 3.0 με CrystalDiskMark σε 5 δοκιμές του 1GB η ίδια κάρτα έδωσε Read Seq Q32T1: 92 MB/s , 4KiB Q8T8: 7,3 MB/s και σε Write Seq Q32T1:70 MB/s, 4KiB Q8T8: 3,2 MB/s. Στο δευτερο benchmark πέρασε τα αναγραφόμενα νούμερα και θα τα βγάλει ανετα πέρα να γράψει ακόμα και 4K βίντεο. ΠΡΟΣΟΧΗ άλλο τα MB/s και άλλο τα Mbps της δειγματοληψίας ΔΕΝ είναι το ίδιο. Αν πάρουμε ως δεδομένο από το πρώτο benchmark με το laptop οτι διαβάζει με 35 MB/s και ότι γράφει με 30 MB/s τότε αυτό σημαίνει ότι μπορεί να γράψει με ως και 240 Mbps (30MB/s x 8) που είναι ένα καλό νούμερο αν πάλι θεωρήσουμε το δεύτερο benchmark πιο σίγουρο και έγκυρο μιας και ειναι από USB 3.0 σε σταθερό Η/Υ τότε μπορεί να γράψει με 70 MB/s ή σε δειγματοληψία (70MB/s x 8) δηλαδή 560 Mbps !!! μπορεί να γράψει πολύ άνετα 4K βίντεο σε κάμερες ή action camera ή κινητά.
Θα μπορούσε να χρησιμοποιηθεί σε dash car camera η σε κάμερες παρακολούθησης αλλά δεν θα αντέξει πάνω από χρόνο τέτοια εντατική χρήση προορίζεται για budget λύση για κινητά, action camera, βιντεοκάμερες handycam και γενικά εξοπλισμό που δεν γράφει 24/7 συνέχεια στην κάρτα. Υπάρχουν πιο ακριβές κάρτες (τύπου endurance) για κάτι τέτοιο.
Αυτή η κάρτα έχει φοβερές ταχύτητες που καλύπτουν ακόμα και έναν επαγγελματία, από αντοχή δεν ξέρω πόσο θα άντεχε σε σχέση με μια Sandisk Extreme Pro.
Στις κάρτες μνήμης να δίνετε μεγάλη σημασία στο write οχι τόσο στο read σύμφωνα με αυτό γράφετε το βίντεο και το θέλετε υψηλό, πολλές κάρτες αλλά και usb φλασάκια γράφουν μόνο το read στη συσκευασία οπότε με μια σύντομη αναζήτηση στο internet θα βρείτε αυτό που σας ταιρίαζει.
- Υπόσχεται 10.000 mating cycles και έχει πιστοποιήσεις EMC: FCC, CE, VCCI, NATA.
- Ανάλογα με το card reader (παλιό, καινούργιο αν είναι usb 2.0 η usb 3.0 αν έχει τους τελευταίους drivers) ή το benchmark ή το πως έχετε ρυθμίσει το benchmark εχει διαφορά η ταχύτητα με βάση τα 50MB τα 100MB η το 1GB οι ταχύτητες μπορεί να ποικίλουν μην είμαστε απόλυτοι απλά σε εμένα βγήκαν αυτά τα νούμερα. Εγώ έτρεξα τα benchmark σε δυο σύγχρονους Η/Υ με διαφορετικά card reader με τις νεότερες ενημέρωσεις και drivers χωρίς να τρέχει τίποτα από πίσω και με το CrystalDiskMark 6.0.2 x64 με 5 δοκιμές στο 1GB δέιγματος.
Στο λαπτοπ και ας είναι νεας γενιάς το ενσωματωμένο reader απόδωσε όσο ένα USB 2.0 reader αλλά στο desktop με card reader USB 3.0 εδωσε την πραγματική της ταχύτητα και πέρσε κα τα αναγραφόμενα της συσκευασίας πολύ τίμια κάρτα.
- Αν την θέλετε για εγγραφη 4K προτιμήστε την έκδοση με τα 128gb οχι γιατί αυτή είναι κακή αλλά για να έχετε περισσότερο χώρο μιας και το 4K πιάνει πολύ χώρο αλλά δείτε στα πόσα mbps γράφει το βίντεο η κάμερα ώστε να σας καλύψει.
- Ο αντάπτορας που δίνει πολύ καλός στα θετικά σημεία όπως και η 10ετής εγγύηση.
- Έχω και στον Η/Υ samsung ssd (τεχνολογία TLC) και είναι ταχύτατος και πολύ αξιόπιστος θέλω να πιστεύω ότι και η κάρτα μνήμης θα αντέξει στο σβήσε γράψε και θα διατηρήσει τις ίδιες ταχύητες που είχε με την πρώτη μέρα.
Update 22 Απριλίου 2024 λειτουργεί απροβλημάτιστα και στις δυο συσκευές μου
Πολύ καλή αγορά αξίζει να το πάρετε σε αυτή την τιμή είμαι ευχαριστημένος εξάλλου είναι το μοναδικό διακριτέο με πολλές θετικές αξιολογήσεις στο skroutz. Θα το επ-αναξιολογήσω με τον καιρό στην χρήση.
