Description

The Irix Firefly camera lens is a wide-angle prime lens designed for full-frame cameras. It features an optical construction of 16 elements in 10 groups, including four refractive elements, two ED elements and three aspherical elements, for reduced distortion of 2%. Its 110° angle of view and f/2.4 aperture make it suitable for landscape and night-sky photography.

The Firefly version has a lightweight composite construction and a textured rubber focus ring. The infinity click feature makes precise focusing easier, while the focus lock keeps the ring in the selected position. The sealing system protects the inside of the lens from moisture, dust and sand, and focusing does not change its dimensions.

Excellent ultra-wide-angle lens.. amazing colors, minimal distortion, minimal vignetting.. it is fully manual so don't expect autofocus.. I don't need it so it doesn't matter to me.. it has a nice click at infinity and it is at infinity.. it has a hyperfocal scale and focus lock.. minus one star because it has a huge diameter (95mm) which makes filters prohibitive.. but it can take gelatin ND filters on the back.. Nice feature for me. It's worth its money, especially for astrophotography where it is amazing.. right after that, of course, there is the Sigma which is in a different league.
