What is latex?

In its pure form, latex is the milky white liquid that is harvested from the trunks of mature rubber trees (heveabrasiliensis).

The Talalay production process:

• A specific amount of lightly foamed latex is poured into a large stable mold-frame in such a way that it fills only part of the mold.
• The cover is sealed, and the latex expands into the void and fills the entire mold.
• Once the latex fills the mold, it begins to "stand up" and the temperature is lowered to -30°C for cooling and consolidation.
• The piece of latex passes through a washing cylinder to rinse off any residues and impurities.
• It is then drained of water and moves under a drying system before arriving at the natural quality control station.
• Each piece of latex is checked individually to ensure it meets the required density and hardness specifications.
