The language of ships, both Greek and international, has evolved rapidly in recent years, in line with the significant changes that have occurred in the maritime sector. It has been improved, modified, and enriched to meet the substantial needs of international communication, which have arisen and continue to arise from the constantly emerging new technical, geographical, economic, and legal data, as well as the recently emerged globalization, which clearly defines and imposes the terms of conducting business in the entire cycle of operations included in the concept of "global shipping".
Words and concepts such as global, maritime, private and maritime labor law, maritime economy, maritime policy, maritime transactions, and marine insurance have been expanded, and numerous new words and terms have been added to address the new data. [...]
In this context, for all Greek sailors and all those working in the entire cycle of operations included in the concept of shipping, learning the relevant terms in English is essential. This Greek-English and English-Greek dictionary in hand is believed to meet and serve the learning requirements as much as possible because it includes everything necessary for complete and accurate communication both within and outside ships, concerning both the operation and navigation of the ships themselves, and everything required for the execution of the entire cycle of operations on a global level within and outside ports, businesses, and offices.
