This volume, the second in the series of editions of the Code "The History Lesson in Secondary Education", continues the effort of the writing team to offer another useful aid for the teaching of History. The teaching material follows the same theoretical orientation and is organized in such a way as to meet the requirements of a modern Analytical Program.
The cognitive content of the volume chronologically covers the Classical Era and, more specifically, the period that begins with the Persian Wars and continues with the glorious Pentekontaetia of Athenian democracy. In addition to the military and political events that mark this period, significant space is occupied by issues concerning the public and private life of Athenian society.
The production and organization of the teaching material according to the guidelines of a history curriculum is based on the belief of the writing team that this way the teaching of the lesson can have more positive results than it has today. This belief arises from the introduction of two new elements in the teaching methodology of the lesson: the activation of students within the classroom and the use of rich and original historical material by themselves.
In this volume, an attempt is made, among other things, to teach specific units of History in classes where students are organized in groups. [...]
