This book, as the title indicates, deals with the possibility of transferring the basic principles proposed by the Council of Europe for language teaching to the teaching of the subject of History.
The choice of this topic is due both to its importance and to my personal interest, which is also related to my specialization as a philologist teacher in Secondary Education and a graduate in Italian language and literature from A.U.Th.
The manual is structured into three parts: In the first part, there is a reference to the subject of History in Education today. The principles, goals, and objectives for organizing the History lesson are presented, along with the planning, methodology, conduct, and evaluation of History teaching in Secondary Education.
In the second part, the history of the establishment of the Council of Europe is presented, alongside its functions, principles, goals, objectives, and finally, the findings of the Common Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe for foreign language teaching.
In the third part, conclusions are drawn based on the principles of the Council of Europe for foreign language teaching that can be transferred to the teaching of History in Secondary Education.
I hope it proves useful both to teachers who teach foreign languages and to those who teach History, as well as to anyone interested in the teaching and learning process.
