This book serves as a historical retrospective and at the same time a journey of Stratis Tsampis. Through the pages of this book, the early steps of Stratos in Ikaria as a sailor, the occupation, the escape to the Middle East, his inclusion in the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), and his actions through the Anti-Fascist Organization of Seamen and the OENO unfold.

Stratos remained a member of the Central Committee of the KKE until the 15th Congress. He spent over 30 years as a member of the highest guiding body. His last public speech took place at the unveiling of the plaque of the building where the founding Congress of the KKE was held, concluding as follows: "We unveil this monument that belongs to you and to the whole Party, which steadfastly follows the path of class struggle, with the promise to lead it to the end: to the socialist revolution."
