Europe unifies the laws of its countries not only within the framework of its Union but also beyond. A result of this trend is the international treaty on the European patent, which has been ratified by Greece.
In fact, this treaty has been modernized with a revision act. Nevertheless, it is deemed appropriate to interpret both the original treaty and the revision act concurrently. This is because the original treaty applies to the European patents granted up to the revision act but also to those granted afterward, when, for example, one or two contracting states did not ratify the revision act, to which Greece has, however, adhered.
In any case, the revision act is interpreted critically, particularly in the part that frequently refers to the implementing regulation, creating difficulties for the legal interpreter, without ignoring that the entire main treaty constitutes the implementing law for the recognition of the European patent.
