Description

This book is the result of a long journey of clinical work, study, research, and synthesis. It addresses the identity of the Greek man, who for centuries made his mark through silence and absence - as a warrior in battle, as a sailor at sea, as a migrant in unknown lands, as a hard worker in contemporary times. Weaving his individual identity with history, tradition, and the dominant geographical and social conditions of his existence, the Greek man transformed into a tough, strong, and resilient individual who had to suppress his sensitivities and weaknesses.

As for his son, he grew up and matured without the substantial contribution of his father in his life - reaching today, in the 21st century, to walk in the footsteps of his ancestors while simultaneously trying to free himself from the vicious cycle that only brings pain and suffering to himself and his family.

The book resembles a journey through time. Starting from the present, it sets sail for the past and ultimately anchors in the future, aiming to deeply understand the Greek man and to highlight the unseen and often misunderstood aspects of him. Today, men are breaking the silence of centuries and opening their souls, revealing their innermost thoughts in the therapeutic process.

This is an important period for the journey and evolution of man, who, like a modern Odysseus, returns to his "home" and gradually forms a new identity. He transitions into a new form of existence and coexistence with the significant people in his life and gives a different meaning, through fatherhood, to the notion of masculinity, offering a new perspective to the next generations.
