Antonis was very mischievous and very naughty, and he was always getting into trouble. Not a day went by without him getting scolded two or three times, sometimes by his aunt, sometimes by the cook, sometimes by the English teacher, and sometimes by the housekeeper, and every so often his uncle was forced to get involved. When his uncle came home and heard about Antonis's latest mischief, his kind face would become as stern as possible, he would furrow his white eyebrows and, shaking his gray head, would say strictly:
- Antonis, I hear again that you have been naughty! I am afraid we will not get along well!
These were the serious moments. Alexandra, the eldest sister, would hear and feel ashamed of her brother. Pouloudia, the youngest sister, would hear and feel her heart pounding. And little Alexandros, sitting on the floor with his finger in his mouth, would hear and decide to himself that he did not want to become such a bad child like Antonis.
And yet, how much he wished he could do all the things Antonis did! Because Antonis did many difficult things.
