Description

Description

Upgrade your computer's RAM with Crucial DDR4, increasing the execution speeds of all your processes.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 2133MT/s to 4800MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL 9 to CL 22, while its capacity has increased up to 32GB per memory unit.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger the size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Crucial DDR4 provides a speed of 2666MT/s, with CL19 and 16GB per memory unit.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake series processors and the latest Intel processors, as well as AMD Ryzen and Threadripper series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

Cooling & Design

The low operating voltage of 1.2V combined with the low height of the memory, which is an ideal size to fit large CPU coolers, helps to keep the memory at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

  • Purchased in 2020, exact model "Kingston ValueRAM DDR4 1x16GB 2666MHz KVR26N19D8/16" I installed it together with a Ryzen 7 2700x, it has proven to be really very fast and has not caused any problems all these years.

For its price (~21€) it is a very good choice.

Good for Intel if you get 2 dimms of 8gb, it's perfect, but they don't have RGB and they have a green pcb which is a bit ugly for gaming aesthetics. I would recommend a more fancy ram
