  • Was it interesting enough?
  • I would choose a book by the same author
  • I would recommend it for purchase
  • Paper quality
  • An amazing book with fantastic illustrations and hidden images.

The protagonist is a tree, an apple tree, which remains steady on every page, while around it the days, the seasons, and the colors of nature change. In each season, animals appear or disappear, while at its center, in its nest, an owl remains, staring at us.

The story begins in winter with the apple tree bare of leaves, while it snows around it. Then come spring, summer, and autumn. Animals appear, depending on the season, around or on it. The apple tree comes alive and fills with leaves that change colors.

Although the book is a pleasant fairy tale for very young children, my boys, who are already five years old, still like it. Now that they know the seasons and the changes in nature, they leaf through it by themselves and discover the animals.

But to tell the truth, I also like this tree... Maybe because it is an apple tree, the first tree I learned about at school... But mainly because I love original, well-crafted, and quality children's books!

It is the ideal book to talk to our children about the seasons and the changes that happen in nature. Also, about the difference between day and night, and about the animals that hibernate. Even about the fruits that trees have, their taste and their colors.

The large apple tree that remains unwavering despite the changes in nature symbolizes strength and stability. The cyclical changes that happen to its leaves, depending on the season, symbolize the ability to change and rebirth!

The texts are short and concise rhymes that explain in a clever and simple way the story of the apple tree and the animals that live on or near it, with the changing seasons.

For me, it is a little gem of a book from a graphic design perspective and it will definitely remain in my library, no matter how much my children grow up. The hidden images won me over immediately and that is the main reason I chose it... I simply consider it perfect!
