It features the ES9023P Sabre dac chip from ESS, which is Hi-Fi grade and the best you can find in a sound card at this price range. The sound is crystal clear with details and decent imaging and soundstage that will enhance the user experience even in demanding games where you need accurate positional sounds. Of course, this also depends on the headphones (or monitors) you have. The software is satisfactory, offering almost any settings you ask for and works seamlessly on Win10. The built-in headphone amplifier does its job very well for the majority of headphones, but it will struggle with planars and headphones above 300ohm and low sensitivity below 96db. For those considering it, don't look any further, there is nothing better at this price range. After this, you can go for the Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus (almost double the price) and then to external dac/amp solutions from Schiit, Topping, SMSL, iFi, Chord, Fiio, etc. that exceed 200€ and the differences in sound are negligible.

It has compatibility issues, which reappear every time the driver is automatically upgraded, or even when the driver of another device is upgraded... I don't use it anymore.
