Causes of pressure ulcer development include:
- Limited mobility.
- Prolonged lying down or sitting in a chair for extended periods.
- Frequent sliding in bed.
- Pulling along the bed when changing position.
- Dry skin.
- Skin exposed to urine, feces, or biological fluids.
- Reduced perception ability.
- Reduced sensitivity or sense of pain.
- Poor nutrition.
- Angiopathy.
The structure of Hartmann PermaFoam is hydrophilic with enlarged pores ensuring quick absorption of wound exudate. It protects from shocks, is easily removable, and is available in various types and sizes.
It is suitable for the treatment of wounds without clinical signs of infection, with moderate to high exudation, during the cleaning and granulation stage, especially for chronic problematic cases, such as leg ulcers or pressure ulcers. It is indicated for the treatment of venous ulcers in the context of compression therapy and burns up to the second degree.
PermaFoam has a hypoallergenic adhesive membrane for secure fixation and protection against microbes.
