The author once again aims to make local history more vivid with testimonies from a lifetime. She also seeks to nourish the currently dry local prose.

In particular, two of her texts, one about the destruction of 1953 and the other regarding the destruction of her garden, due to the reconstruction of recent years, vividly illustrate the two devastations of Zakynthos, the involuntary and the deliberate, yet also a mandate of the times, which brought the island to its current state, one that pleases no one, but for which no one is doing anything to stop or change.
