I've had it for 3 to 4 years now. Quite frequent use. It's quite powerful, heats up very quickly compared to some others at the same price, but most importantly... it does its job just fine. I've put a Hakko tip on it and it doesn't struggle at all. It even soldered a 144-pin IC without any damage.

I don't know about 40 or 45 watts, but quite simply the difference isn't big and it certainly doesn't change one's expectations for a 35-euro soldering iron.

    Get it without fear.

    edit after 2 more years...

Works like a dog. No problem. I still have the same Hakko tip on it. It DOES NOT struggle.

    You don't enjoy it...and it's 40w, not 45.
I would suggest you go for something else with more wattage, like 48 and above with ceramic.

    Update 7.7.20
It doesn't work and constantly burns the tips.
The customer service is completely awful and they also charge you for shipping.
I sent it twice for a problem it had.
Stay away from this particular one, which is not even 45w but 38w to be exact.
Give something more and get something better with over 48w as I have mentioned, and ceramic.
