"The Princess of Hylida" has been characterized as one of Molière's personal works, where he confides and lets his heart speak.

Scholars of the work believe that this is nothing more than a love song for the unfaithful wife of Armant, who played the role of the princess. Moreover, the author himself successfully played the role of Moron and impressed with his eye rolls, amusing grimaces, and comical body postures.

The historian of modern Greek theatre, Nikolaos Laskaris, informs us that "almost the whole" of Molière's work has been translated into Greek.
