Description

Woven into the webs of ancient history, the relations between the Greeks and Nubia have taken on new patterns in modern times with the creation of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.

Egyptians and Greeks migrated deep into the African country and, under extremely difficult conditions, lived harmoniously alongside the indigenous population, overcoming historical blows such as revolutions and civil wars together.

At the same time, passing on culture once again to cities, towns, and villages, they soon organized themselves, creating communities, associations, churches, and schools, while never forgetting the motherland, being practical supporters of love and faith at every call.

This book, less a historical work and more a memoir of action and contribution, serves as a minimal tribute to all those Greeks of Sudan whose memory will remain indelible in the eternal lamp of the Diaspora Hellenism.
