The subject of Dionysios Solomos is, of course, inexhaustible, despite the fact that great thinkers, commentators, and writers have engaged with his study.
And it was natural for this to happen, since, in the person of the Zakynthian psalmist, the genuine poetic muse returned to Greece after being absent for many years, particularly at a critical moment in the Nation's history, during the great efforts for the restoration of freedom.
In this purpose, Solomos offered all of his spiritual self, his unique and entirely Greek heart as he himself affirmed, which, with its strong, lyrical, national patriotic rhythms and its noble fruit, his poetic words, has emerged as a national leader.
