The book "Funeral Hymn" contains the Service of the Eulogies of the Theotokos, as it is performed at the Theotokos Memorial in Gethsemane, and is based on the corresponding edition of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem "Divine and Sacred Hymn Service of the Eulogies of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Jerusalem."

As a supplement, the Eulogies from the book "Funeral Hymn" by the Bishop of Karystia Makarios Kalliarhis (19th century) have also been included, which were published by Mount Athos in 1932. It also contains the corresponding Service that was published in 1993 by His Eminence Metropolitan of Samos and Ikaria Mr. Eusebius, which specifies the Eulogies in the Vespers of the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, immediately after the stichera and the Doxology, which are included in this edition and were composed in imitation of the Stichera of the Vespers Service of Great Friday.

The last part of the Book includes a Musical Appendix, which contains the stichera and the Doxology from the edition of the Metropolitan of Samos, a selection of Eulogies from the editions of Jerusalem and Mount Athos (20 in each Station), and slow "Blessed Hymns," noted in the annotation of Byzantine Music, with utmost respect for Church Music, and an effort to highlight its grandeur through its simplicity, without innovations and secularizations.

On the digital disc accompanying this edition, the Byzantine Music Choir "Chanter Deacons" sings the hymns included in the musical appendix of the book.
