Description

The book presents in detail methods for solving computational applications related to the utilization of soft forms of energy, specifically solar energy. In this direction, the present work consists of five (5) independent chapters and an appendix, which contain more than fifty exemplary solved computational applications.

More specific contents of the chapters of the book are as follows:

- The first chapter of the book examines topics related to methods and ways of calculating direct, diffuse, and total solar radiation on selected surfaces with a defined slope and orientation.

- The second chapter analyzes applications related to the thermal utilization of solar energy using suitable solar collectors.

- The third chapter deals with the determination of the main dimensions, the analysis of the operational parameters, and the calculation of the energy production of modern photovoltaic applications.

- The fourth chapter examines, on one hand, issues related to the market for solar collectors, photovoltaic installations, and agricultural solar greenhouses, and on the other hand, issues related to the social and environmental benefits of utilizing solar energy.

- The fifth chapter thoroughly analyzes the economic-technical behavior of investments in solar energy utilization for electricity generation and covering thermal loads.

Finally, the appendix of the book gathers the necessary relationships between the units of physical quantities, which are used for solving problems of solar energy utilization as well as more general energy issues.
