The EdgeRouter Infinity by Ubiquiti is a router, a device to which other devices connect, either wirelessly or via cable, and it shares internet access. For internet access, it needs to be connected to a modem. The device has the capability to set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) so that the traffic from all devices on the network passes through it. The VPN acts as an intermediary between us and the rest of the internet, providing anonymity and access to geographically restricted content. The NAT firewall hides the addresses of all devices on the local network behind a unique address, increasing security. With MAC address filtering, it allows specific devices to connect based on their unique MAC address.
