Five years have passed since the previous edition, along with a drastic change in the philosophy and rules of financial accounting in our country with the adoption of the Greek Accounting Standards.

Furthermore, the tax legislation has also undergone significant changes. For these reasons, the current edition was deemed necessary, which has included changes in the legislation - to the extent we believe they can be understood by students of Greek universities and TEIs.

We emphasize that our goal was for our students to understand Financial Accounting and not to compile a "cookbook" for the application of the International and the Greek Accounting Standards.

In closing this preface, we would like to thank the colleagues who chose to use this book as a supplement in their courses. It is obvious that for any remaining mistakes and omissions, we, the authors, bear the responsibility.
