I connected a Toshiba MG08 16TB hard drive, which connected and worked flawlessly.
The internal casing is made of plastic, but it doesn't seem ready to break with the first disk change in the casing. If someone wants aluminum everywhere or wants to change the disk frequently, there are other solutions with multiple times the cost, but this case for €25 is perfect.

Το εσωτερικό της θήκης είναι μεν πλαστικό αλλά δεν μοιάζει να είναι έτοιμο να σπάσει με την πρώτη αλλαγή δίσκου στη θήκη. Αν κάποιος θέλει παντού αλουμίνιο ή θέλει να αλλάζει δίσκο κάθε λίγο, υπάρχουν άλλες λύσεις με πολλαπλάσιο κόστος, πάντως αυτή η θήκη για τα €25 της είναι τέλεια.
Reading the reviews from other users, I have to say that I was a little hesitant about buying this particular case. However, I believe that the reviews are a bit "harsh" and do not fully represent the product. I bought the case to install a Seagate 16TB for storing large files. The installation was effortless and the disk fit perfectly in the plastic frame. I had to loosen the screws of the controller board a bit to connect the disk to the SATA slot, and then tighten them again. The build quality is quite satisfactory for its cost of 20€. If you want hot swapping or are looking for better build quality, then there are more expensive cases that offer more.

Η τοποθέτηση ήταν απροβλημάτιστη και ο δίσκος εφάρμοσε “like a glove” στο πλαστικό πλαίσιο. Χρειάστηκε να λασκάρω λιγάκι τα βιδάκια της πλακέτας του controller ώστε να κουμπώσει ο δίσκος στη υποδοχή SATA, και μετά πάλι σφίξιμο. Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι αρκετά ικανοποιητική για τα 20€ που κοστίζει. Εάν θέλετε hot swapping ή ψάχνετε καλύτερη ποιότητα κατασκευής, τότε υπάρχουν πιο ακριβές θήκες που προσφέρουν περισσότερα.
Good interface but I would prefer it not to have plastic in the disc tray! It also reads the disc correctly without any problems! Highly recommended!

It is the 2nd RaidSonic case that I buy and it presents problems constantly giving errors like "format disk", "scan disk", "inaccessible disk", etc. As a result, the file backup gets stuck. The 1st one was for a 2.5" disk and I returned it immediately after 2 days. With the problem always being located in the cases because the disks inside are OK (see Patriot SSD 1TB and WD Gold 3.5" respectively). I DO NOT recommend buying this one. Look for something more reliable (e.g. LogiLink, ORICO, Inateck, Sabrent, etc.). The Sata/USB3.0 chip inside the IB-377U3 is the older JMS577 with Firmware version 130.05.00.01. So, FAR AWAY. Look for something more modern! This specific case is outdated now! It's a shame because it is very beautiful in appearance, but it is also expensive for what it offers.

Metal box on the outside but everything inside is plastic... and completely crappy plastic at that. Oh, if you plan on putting a disc in once and never using it again, go for it, it has a nice design. But if you plan on constantly changing discs, don't buy it, it will break on the third change... the plastic parts inside are completely crappy.

The 3 stars were given (I think there are too many) because I didn't expect a German company to remain stagnant over the years and the only thing it has managed to improve is the presentation of its products through its website. What do I mean? The installation is not as simple (according to some, easy) because if you don't unscrew the hard drive's mounting plate (SATA Controller - 2 screws) in order to adjust its height, so that it can be connected (technically speaking, "slid in"), the hard drive won't fit. (Now, if someone other than me is going to buy it, I would like to know how they achieve hot swapping.) Then, it closes with two black screws, which if not tightened properly, both the front (the face) and the back covers won't fit well and will be loose... However, even when I tightened the screws, there is still some play in the front cover, risking the plastic to break from the bottom (more than just a slight wobble).
I bought the Box to install a Western Digital Red NAS 4TB (https://www.skroutz.gr/s/3870224/Western-Digital-Red-NAS-4TB.html) that I bought for my backups.
Now let's talk about the performance - functionality part of the box. The controller is quite good. The casing is indeed metallic and I appreciate that (because I've only had it for one day) it adds a kind of cooling system for the disk, although after 2 hours (as I write this) it is slightly warm in the center of the box. The front blue LED is really good and functional. In terms of space, it is quite good (doesn't take up much). I only check (after proper configuration with the motherboard's BIOS - of course, this is a step beyond the evaluation) if the machine can finally post with the box connected and the disk working (legacy USB!).
Τα 3 αστέρια μπήκανε (νομίζω και πολλά του είναι) γιατί, δεν περίμενα από μία Γερμανική εταιρία, καθόλη την πάροδο των ετών να έχει μείνει έτσι στάσιμη και το μόνο που έχει καταφέρει είναι καλύτερη η παρουσίαση των προϊόντων της, μέσω της ιστοσελίδας της. Τι εννοώ. Η τοποθέτηση τελικά δεν είναι τόσο απλή (κατ' αλλους εύκολη) γιατί αν δεν ξεβιδώσεις την πλακέτα υποδοχής του σκληρού (SATA Controller - 2 βίδες) για να μπορέσεις να παίξεις με το ύψος της, έτσι ώστε να έρθει να κουμπώσει (να "συρταρώσει" όπως λέμε τεχνικά) ο σκληρός, αυτός τελικά δεν μπαίνει. (Τώρα για hot swap ήθελα να μου πει κάποιος που θα το αγοράσει εκτός από εμένα, πως το πετυχαίνει) Έπειτα από πίσω κλείνει με δύο μαύρες βίδες, τις οποίες αν δεν τις σφίξεις καλά τόσο το μπροστά (η πρόσοψη) όσο και το πίσω καπάκια δεν εφαρμόζουν καλά και παίζουν... Ακόμη όμως και που τερμάτισα τις βίδες με κίνδυνο να κλωτσήσει το πλαστικό το μπροστά καπάκι από την κάτω μεριά έχει ένα παίξιμο ((κάτι παραπάνω από τζογάρισμα)
To Box το αγόρασα για να τοποθετήσω ένα Western Digital Red NAS 4TB

Πάμε τώρα στο εκτελεστικό - λειτουργικό κομμάτι του box. Ο controller είναι αρκετά καλός. Το περίβλημα είναι όντως μεταλλικό και αυτό εκτιμώ (γιατί το έχω μόνο μία ημέρα) ότι προσθέτει ένα είδους σύστημα ψυξης του δίσκου, αν και μετά από 2 ώρες (τώρα που γράφω) είναι λίγο χλιαρό στο κέντρο του κουτιού. Το εμπρόσθιο μπλέ led είναι όντως καλό και λειτουργικό. Από πλευράς χώρου είναι αρκετά καλό (δεν καταλαμβάνει πολύ). Τσεκάρω μόνο (μετά και από κατάλληλη ρύθμιση με το BIOS της μητρικής - αυτό βέβαια είναι ένα βήμα πιο πέρα απο τη αξιολόγηση του) αν τελικά μπορεί το μηχάνημα να κάνει post, με το box αναμένο και το δίσκο να λειτουργεί (legacy USB!).

Τα 3 αστέρια μπήκανε (νομίζω και πολλά του είναι) γιατί, δεν περίμενα από μία Γερμανική εταιρία, καθόλη την πάροδο των ετών να έχει μείνει έτσι στάσιμη και το μόνο που έχει καταφέρει είναι καλύτερη η παρουσίαση των προϊόντων της, μέσω της ιστοσελίδας της. Τι εννοώ. Η τοποθέτηση τελικά δεν είναι τόσο απλή (κατ' αλλους εύκολη) γιατί αν δεν ξεβιδώσεις την πλακέτα υποδοχής του σκληρού (SATA Controller - 2 βίδες) για να μπορέσεις να παίξεις με το ύψος της, έτσι ώστε να έρθει να κουμπώσει (να "συρταρώσει" όπως λέμε τεχνικά) ο σκληρός, αυτός τελικά δεν μπαίνει. (Τώρα για hot swap ήθελα να μου πει κάποιος που θα το αγοράσει εκτός από εμένα, πως το πετυχαίνει) Έπειτα από πίσω κλείνει με δύο μαύρες βίδες, τις οποίες αν δεν τις σφίξεις καλά τόσο το μπροστά (η πρόσοψη) όσο και το πίσω καπάκια δεν εφαρμόζουν καλά και παίζουν... Ακόμη όμως και που τερμάτισα τις βίδες με κίνδυνο να κλωτσήσει το πλαστικό το μπροστά καπάκι από την κάτω μεριά έχει ένα παίξιμο ((κάτι παραπάνω από τζογάρισμα)
To Box το αγόρασα για να τοποθετήσω ένα Western Digital Red NAS 4TB

Πάμε τώρα στο εκτελεστικό - λειτουργικό κομμάτι του box. Ο controller είναι αρκετά καλός. Το περίβλημα είναι όντως μεταλλικό και αυτό εκτιμώ (γιατί το έχω μόνο μία ημέρα) ότι προσθέτει ένα είδους σύστημα ψυξης του δίσκου, αν και μετά από 2 ώρες (τώρα που γράφω) είναι λίγο χλιαρό στο κέντρο του κουτιού. Το εμπρόσθιο μπλέ led είναι όντως καλό και λειτουργικό. Από πλευράς χώρου είναι αρκετά καλό (δεν καταλαμβάνει πολύ). Τσεκάρω μόνο (μετά και από κατάλληλη ρύθμιση με το BIOS της μητρικής - αυτό βέβαια είναι ένα βήμα πιο πέρα απο τη αξιολόγηση του) αν τελικά μπορεί το μηχάνημα να κάνει post, με το box αναμένο και το δίσκο να λειτουργεί (legacy USB!).

It is quite compatible with a wide range of devices and the controller is compatible with several software. Indeed, it is not for hot swap, but if you want to turn a hard drive into an external one, it does the job well. I didn't find anything better at this price. The materials are just fine for this amount of money. I didn't find anything else at this price with better materials.
Είναι αρκετά συμβατό με μεγάλη γκάμα συσκευών και το controller είναι συμβατό με αρκετά λογισμικά. Ναι μεν δεν είναι για hot swap, αλλά για να μετατρέψεις κάποιο σκληρο σε εξωτερικό, είναι μια χαρά. Δεν βρήκα κάτι καλύτερο σε αυτή την τιμή. Τα υλικά είναι μια χαρά για αυτά τα λευτα. Δεν βρήκα κάτι άλλο σε αυτή την τιμή με καλύτερα υλικά.
I connected a Toshiba MG08 16TB hard drive, which connected and worked flawlessly.
The internal casing is made of plastic, but it doesn't seem ready to break with the first disk change in the casing. If someone wants aluminum everywhere or wants to change the disk frequently, there are other solutions with multiple times the cost, but this case for €25 is perfect.
Σύνδεσα έναν δίσκο Toshiba MG08 16TB ο οποίος συνδέθηκε και δούλεψε απροβλημάτιστα.
Το εσωτερικό της θήκης είναι μεν πλαστικό αλλά δεν μοιάζει να είναι έτοιμο να σπάσει με την πρώτη αλλαγή δίσκου στη θήκη. Αν κάποιος θέλει παντού αλουμίνιο ή θέλει να αλλάζει δίσκο κάθε λίγο, υπάρχουν άλλες λύσεις με πολλαπλάσιο κόστος, πάντως αυτή η θήκη για τα €25 της είναι τέλεια.
Reading the reviews from other users, I have to say that I was a little hesitant about buying this particular case. However, I believe that the reviews are a bit "harsh" and do not fully represent the product. I bought the case to install a Seagate 16TB for storing large files. The installation was effortless and the disk fit perfectly in the plastic frame. I had to loosen the screws of the controller board a bit to connect the disk to the SATA slot, and then tighten them again. The build quality is quite satisfactory for its cost of 20€. If you want hot swapping or are looking for better build quality, then there are more expensive cases that offer more.
Διαβάζοντάς τις κριτικές από άλλους χρήστες ομολογώ να πω ότι προβληματίστηκα λίγο ως προς την αγορά της συγκεκριμένης θήκης. Πιστεύω όμως ότι οι κριτικές είναι λιγάκι “αυστηρές” και δεν εκπροσωπεύουν απόλυτα το προϊόν. Τη θήκη την αγόρασα για τη τοποθέτηση ενός Seagate 16TB για αποθήκευση μεγάλων αρχείων. Η τοποθέτηση ήταν απροβλημάτιστη και ο δίσκος εφάρμοσε “like a glove” στο πλαστικό πλαίσιο. Χρειάστηκε να λασκάρω λιγάκι τα βιδάκια της πλακέτας του controller ώστε να κουμπώσει ο δίσκος στη υποδοχή SATA, και μετά πάλι σφίξιμο. Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι αρκετά ικανοποιητική για τα 20€ που κοστίζει. Εάν θέλετε hot swapping ή ψάχνετε καλύτερη ποιότητα κατασκευής, τότε υπάρχουν πιο ακριβές θήκες που προσφέρουν περισσότερα.
Good interface but I would prefer it not to have plastic in the disc tray! It also reads the disc correctly without any problems! Highly recommended!

It is the 2nd RaidSonic case that I buy and it presents problems constantly giving errors like "format disk", "scan disk", "inaccessible disk", etc. As a result, the file backup gets stuck. The 1st one was for a 2.5" disk and I returned it immediately after 2 days. With the problem always being located in the cases because the disks inside are OK (see Patriot SSD 1TB and WD Gold 3.5" respectively). I DO NOT recommend buying this one. Look for something more reliable (e.g. LogiLink, ORICO, Inateck, Sabrent, etc.). The Sata/USB3.0 chip inside the IB-377U3 is the older JMS577 with Firmware version 130.05.00.01. So, FAR AWAY. Look for something more modern! This specific case is outdated now! It's a shame because it is very beautiful in appearance, but it is also expensive for what it offers.
Είναι η 2η θήκη της RaidSonic που αγοράζω και παρουσιάζει προβλήματα δίνοντας συνεχώς errors για "format disk", "scan disk", "inaccessible disk" κλπ. Με αποτέλεσμα το backup αρχείων να κολλάει. Η 1η ήταν για 2.5" δίσκο και την επέστρεψα αμέσως μετά από 2 ημέρες. Με το πρόβλημα να εντοπίζεται πάντα στις θήκες γιατί οι δίσκοι μέσα είναι ΟΚ (βλ. Patriot SSD 1TB και WD Gold 3.5" αντίστοιχα). ΔΕΝ συνιστώ την αγορά της συγκεκριμένης. Ψάξτε καλύτερα για κάτι πιο αξιόπιστο (πχ. LogiLink, ORICO, Inateck , Sabrent κλπ).
Το chip Sata/USB3.0 που έχει μέσα το IB-377U3 είναι το παλαιότερο JMS577 με έκδοση Firmware 130.05.00.01. Οπότε ΜΑΚΡΥΑ. Ψάξτε για κάτι πιο σύγχρονο! Είναι ξεπερασμένη πια η συγκεκριμένη θήκη! Κρίμα γιατί και εμφανισιακά είναι πολύ όμορφη αλλά και ακριβή είναι για αυτά που προσφέρει.
