The "Etymological Dictionary of the Koutsovlach Language" by K. Nikolaidis (1909), republished by 24grammata editions (2017), includes 6,657 words, of which 3,560 have Greek origin, 2,605 are Latin, 185 are Slavic, 150 are Albanian, and the remaining 157 are unknown. Moreover, in many of the Greek-derived words, the etymology can be traced back to the prehistoric and Homeric times.
