Well, I've had it here for a while, mainly because I have Homekit and wanted it. I can watch Apple TV+ through it (they gave me a free subscription for a year, I don't know why), Netflix (with Dolby Atmos in some works), and also with Infuse, I can watch whatever content I want from my Nas server that I have downloaded. So, for someone who wants to watch content they have downloaded with Infuse, Plex is the solution. Netflix and Apple TV+ are subscription services. Now, with Arcade, you can also play games, although I'm not much of a gamer!

If you are not a Mac lover and do not have a Mac ecosystem set up, there is no reason to go for the Apple TV. You can do your job with any other TV box.

Αν και μιλάμε για ένα από τα πιο ποιοτικά TV Boxes που υπάρχουν στην αγορά στην Ελλάδα τουλάχιστον αδικείται από την ίδια την εταιρεία που το παράγει με τη μη διαθεσιμότητα όλων των υπηρεσιών ή των app που έχει καθώς επίσης και με την απαράδεκτη τιμολογιακή πολιτική της για ταινίες και μουσική, το οποίο βέβαια είναι ένα άλλο θέμα.
Αν δεν είσαι mac lover και δεν έχεις στημένο οικοσύστημα mac δεν υπάρχει λόγος να πας στο apple tv. Μπορείς να κάνεις τη δουλειά σου με ένα οποιοδήποτε άλλο tv box.
Δεν είναι παραμετροποιήσιμο καθόλου, δε θα μπορέσεις να συνδέσεις σκληρό δίσκο, το gaming experience είναι διαίτερα basic, η ποιότητα εικόνας από την άλλη είναι εκπληκτική όπως και ο ήχος.
Ναι μπορείς να κάνεις mirroring το κινητό σου φωτογραφίες άλλα σε παιχνίδια θα εκνευριστείς από το lag, δοκίμασα επίσης να κάνω mirroring ταινία από το mac μου με όχι καλά αποτελέσματα.
Αν θέλεις να στήσεις ένα homekit είναι απαραίτητο για να λειτουργήσει ως hub, το ακριβότερο ενδεχομένως της αγοράς άλλα apple είσαι :D

If you don't have Netflix and don't plan on getting it, there aren't many reasons to continue reading.
So, are you interested in Netflix? Alright. There are cheaper ways to watch Netflix on your dumbTV, are you still interested in Apple TV?
Okay then. Are you also interested in gaming on your TV? Trust me, there are better gaming systems for your TV, and if you don't want to go for expensive solutions like PlayStation, I would recommend a retro console like NES Classic, for example. Seriously, you'll have a better gaming experience than with Apple TV. The selection of games in the Apple TV App store is relatively small, and the gaming experience with the Apple remote is simply disappointing. So, you'll need a "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. So, add another 60-90 euros to your budget. So, we've reached PlayStation. Even if it's a used one.
Are you still interested in Apple TV? Okay, okay, it also offers access to your photos, music, and theoretically your podcasts (they don't work for me). It also has a good YouTube app, so if you're obsessed with YouTube and want it on your TV, then it counts.
If you're not interested in the above, then why are you still reading? One last thing, it does screen mirroring from your iPhone/iPad/Mac, which might come in handy at some point. However, I tried to "steal" and mirror games from my iPhone to the TV, but there was significant lag.
So, to sum up, in Greece, we only have Netflix for streaming services, as a gaming system, it's not good, and the rest it offers is done well, if you're interested, of course. And one last important thing: I am very disappointed with the Apple remote and the overall user experience in navigating through menus, by far the worst user experience on an Apple device. It's been a month and I still haven't gotten used to it. Oh! And Siri doesn't work in Greece. Only for dictation. And also, we don't even have the Apple TV app in Greece, which gathers all the streaming subscription services into one unified app. Makes sense, since we only have Netflix, what else would it gather?
So, where do we end up? Apple TV is not bad, it just tries to do too many things at once, and some it does well (Netflix, YouTube, Screen Mirroring), some it does poorly (User experience, Gaming), and the rest is probably irrelevant. In other words, it's a good product, but not "Apple" good, and in Greece, where we don't have enough services, it's probably not worth the money.

I thought I'd update the review since things have slightly changed for the better. Now on Apple TV, you also have the option of Apple TV+ for streaming.
The availability of games continues to be disappointing on Apple TV (compared to, let's say, the iPad), and I would say I don't see any progress in this area. BUT: Now there is the option of the Apple Arcade subscription service, where you have a choice of over 100 games, which I would mostly characterize as "casual." Don't expect to see any blockbuster titles like The Witcher, you know... But anyway, there are some good options to kill time.
Perhaps the biggest positive update is that now PS4 and Xbox controllers are 100% compatible with Apple TV, which are much cheaper than MFi controllers. And they work (almost) flawlessly (vibration support is not available yet).
After 2-3 years of use, what hasn't changed at all for me is the frustration regarding the Apple Remote. I consider it the worst product Apple has ever released, and not only that. We all hate it in the family, I just want to see it burn.
For this reason, as well as the inflated price (considering all the above), I will give it a rating of 3 stars

Ενδιαφέρεσαι για Netflix λοιπόν; Ωραία. Υπάρχουν πιο φθηνοί τρόποι για να βλέπεις Netflix στην dumbTV σου, ενδιαφέρεσαι ακόμα για το AppleTV;
Οκ λοιπόν. Ενδιαφέρεσαι και για gaming στην TV σου; Πίστεψέ με, υπάρχουν καλύτερα συστήματα gaming για την TV σου και αν δεν θες να πας σε ακριβες λύσεις, playstation κλπ, θα σου πρότεινα καμία retro μηχανή, NES Classic κλπ. Σοβαρά τώρα, θα έχεις καλύτερη εμπειρία gaming από το Apple TV. Η διάθεση των games στο AppleTV App store είναι σχετικά μικρή και η εμπειρία στα παιχνίδια με το apple remote απλά απογοητευτική. Άρα χρειάζεσαι ένα "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. Άρα βάλε άλλα 60-90 ευρώ στο budget σου. Άρα το φτάσαμε το playstation. Έστω μεταχείρα.
Ενδιαφέρεσαι ακόμα για Apple TV ε; Οκ, οκ σου προσφέρει επίσης πρόσβαση στις φωτογραφίες σου, στην μουσική σου και θεωρητικά στα podcasts σου (εμένα δεν παίζουν). Επίσης έχει καλό YouTube App, και αν είσαι καμένος με YouTube και θες να το 'χεις και στην TV σου, τότε μετράει.
Αν δεν σε ενδιαφέρουν τα παραπάνω, τότε γιατί διαβάζεις ακόμα; Κάτι τελευταίο λοιπόν, κάνει και screen mirroring από το iPhone/iPad/Mac σου, κάτι που μπορεί να σου χρησιμεύσει κάποια στιγμή. Πάντως δοκίμασα να "κλέψω" και να κάνω mirroring παιχνίδια από το iPhone στην TV, αλλά είχαν μεγάλο lag.
Για να καταλήξουμε λοιπόν κάπου, στην Ελλάδα από streaming υπηρεσίες μόνο Netflix έχει, σαν gaming system είναι κακό και τα υπόλοιπα που προσφέρει τα κάνει καλά, αν σε ενδιαφέρουν βεβαίως. Και κάτι τελευταίο και σημαντικό: Είμαι πολύ απογοητευμένος από το apple remote και από την περιήγηση του χρήστη γενικότερα στα μενού, μακράν το χειρότερο User eXperience σε συσκευή της Apple. Έναν μήνα μετά ακόμα να τα συνηθίσω. Α! Και η Siri δεν λειτουργεί στην Ελλάδα. Μόνο για dictation. Και επίσης, ούτε το TV App της Apple έχουμε στην Ελλάδα το οποίο συγκεντρώνει όλες τις συνδρομητικές υπηρεσίες streaming σε μία ενιαία. Λογικό, αφού έχουμε μόνο Netflix, τι να συγκεντρώσει;
Άραααα, που καταλήγουμε; Δεν είναι κακό το AppleTV, απλά προσπαθεί να κάνει πολλά πράγματα ταυτόχρονα και κάποια τα κάνει καλά (Netflix, YouTube, Screen Mirroring) κάποια κακά (User experience, Gaming) και τα υπόλοιπα μάλλον αδιάφορα. Με άλλα λόγια, καλό προϊόν αλλά όχι "Apple" καλό και στην Ελλάδα που δεν έχουμε αρκετές υπηρεσίες μάλλον δεν αξίζει τα λεφτά του.

Είπα να ενημερώσω το review μιας και τα πράγματα έχουν αλλάξει ελαφρώς προς το καλύτερο. Πλέον στο Apple TV έχεις και το Apple TV+ σαν επιλογή για streaming.
Η διάθεση των παιχνιδιών συνεχίζει και είναι απογοητευτική στο Apple TV (σε σχέση με το iPad πχ) και θα 'λεγα ότι δεν βλέπω καμία εξέλιξη σε αυτό τον τομέα. ΑΛΛΑ: Πλέον υπάρχει η επιλογή της συνδρομητικής υπηρεσίας Apple Arcade όπου εκεί έχεις επιλογή για πάνω από 100 παιχνίδια, τα οποία όμως ως επί των πλείστων θα τα χαρακτήριζα ως "casual". Μην περιμένετε να δείτε καμία υπερπαραγωγή τύπου Witcher ξέρω εγώ... Αλλά όπως και να χει, υπάρχουν κάποιες καλές επιλογές για να σκοτώσεις τον χρόνο σου.
Ίσως το μεγαλύτερο θετικό update - νέο είναι ότι πλέον τα PS4 και XBox controllers είναι 100% συμβατά με το Apple TV, τα οποία είναι αρκετά φθηνότερα από τα MFi controllers. Και λειτουργούν (σχεδόν) άψογα (δεν υπάρχει ακόμη υποστήριξη για vibration).
Μετά από 2-3 χρόνια χρήσης αυτό που δεν έχει αλλάξει καθόλου για εμένα είναι ο εκνευρισμός σχετικά με το Apple Remote. Θεωρώ πως είναι το χειρότερο προϊόν που έχει βγάλει ποτέ η Apple και όχι μόνο. Το μισούμε όλοι στην οικογένεια, θέλω απλά να το δω να καίγεται.
Για αυτόν τον λόγο καθώς και για την τσιμπημένη τιμή του (έχοντας υπόψη και όλα τα παραπάνω), θα κρατήσω την βαθμολογία των 3 αστεριών

Για αρχή θα πω ότι είναι μόνο για χρήστες που έχουν συσκευές Apple αλλιώς πάνε τζάμπα τα λεφτά !!! Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι απλά απαράμιλλη ιδιαίτερα εύκολο στην χρήση και αν κάποιος θέλει να αναπαράγει αρχεία διαφορετικά από το format της Apple δεν έχει παρά να αγοράσει την εφαρμογή Infuse που είναι ο ελβετικός σουγιάς των format !!! Βασικό στοιχείο αποτελεί το ότι αν κάποιος θέλει να φτιάξει Apple HomeKit πρέπει να έχει Apple TV στο σπίτι οπότε αυτή είναι άλλη μια χρήση του !!! Συνδεσιμότητα σταθερή χωρίς προβλήματα μέσω WiFi ή Ethernet !!!
A very good machine, BUT with the locking logic that Apple has, it simply destroys this product as well. Since I also have the Xiaomi TV Box in 4K, I prefer it more (even though Android TV is completely unacceptable) just because you can connect whatever you want via USB. However, the logic of TV BOXes (Apple TV 4K - Xiaomi TV Box 4K) that they ONLY go into Sleep mode and cannot be turned off is ridiculous. Illogical.
Ένα πολύ καλό μηχάνημα, ΑΛΛΑ με την λογική του κλειδώματος που έχει η Apple απλά καταστρέφει και αυτό το προϊόν της. Μιας κι έχω και το Xiaomi TV Box σε 4K το προτιμώ περισσότερο (και ας είναι επιεικώς απαράδεκτο το Android TV) μόνο και μόνο επειδή μπορείς να συνδέσεις μέσω usb ότι θες. Πάντως η λογική των tv BOX (Apple TV 4k - Xiaomi TV box 4k) ότι μπαίνουν ΜΌΝΟ σε Sleep mode και δεν γίνεται turn off είναι για κλάματα. Παράλογο.

So, are you interested in Netflix? Alright. There are cheaper ways to watch Netflix on your dumbTV, are you still interested in Apple TV?
Okay then. Are you also interested in gaming on your TV? Trust me, there are better gaming systems for your TV, and if you don't want to go for expensive solutions like PlayStation, I would recommend a retro console like NES Classic, for example. Seriously, you'll have a better gaming experience than with Apple TV. The selection of games in the Apple TV App store is relatively small, and the gaming experience with the Apple remote is simply disappointing. So, you'll need a "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. So, add another 60-90 euros to your budget. So, we've reached PlayStation. Even if it's a used one.
Are you still interested in Apple TV? Okay, okay, it also offers access to your photos, music, and theoretically your podcasts (they don't work for me). It also has a good YouTube app, so if you're obsessed with YouTube and want it on your TV, then it counts.
If you're not interested in the above, then why are you still reading? One last thing, it does screen mirroring from your iPhone/iPad/Mac, which might come in handy at some point. However, I tried to "steal" and mirror games from my iPhone to the TV, but there was significant lag.
So, to sum up, in Greece, we only have Netflix for streaming services, as a gaming system, it's not good, and the rest it offers is done well, if you're interested, of course. And one last important thing: I am very disappointed with the Apple remote and the overall user experience in navigating through menus, by far the worst user experience on an Apple device. It's been a month and I still haven't gotten used to it. Oh! And Siri doesn't work in Greece. Only for dictation. And also, we don't even have the Apple TV app in Greece, which gathers all the streaming subscription services into one unified app. Makes sense, since we only have Netflix, what else would it gather?
So, where do we end up? Apple TV is not bad, it just tries to do too many things at once, and some it does well (Netflix, YouTube, Screen Mirroring), some it does poorly (User experience, Gaming), and the rest is probably irrelevant. In other words, it's a good product, but not "Apple" good, and in Greece, where we don't have enough services, it's probably not worth the money.

I thought I'd update the review since things have slightly changed for the better. Now on Apple TV, you also have the option of Apple TV+ for streaming.
The availability of games continues to be disappointing on Apple TV (compared to, let's say, the iPad), and I would say I don't see any progress in this area. BUT: Now there is the option of the Apple Arcade subscription service, where you have a choice of over 100 games, which I would mostly characterize as "casual." Don't expect to see any blockbuster titles like The Witcher, you know... But anyway, there are some good options to kill time.
Perhaps the biggest positive update is that now PS4 and Xbox controllers are 100% compatible with Apple TV, which are much cheaper than MFi controllers. And they work (almost) flawlessly (vibration support is not available yet).
After 2-3 years of use, what hasn't changed at all for me is the frustration regarding the Apple Remote. I consider it the worst product Apple has ever released, and not only that. We all hate it in the family, I just want to see it burn.
For this reason, as well as the inflated price (considering all the above), I will give it a rating of 3 stars

Ενδιαφέρεσαι και για gaming στην TV σου; Πίστεψέ με, υπάρχουν καλύτερα συστήματα gaming για την TV σου και αν δεν θες να πας σε ακριβες λύσεις, playstation κλπ, θα σου πρότεινα καμία retro μηχανή, NES Classic κλπ. Σοβαρά τώρα, θα έχεις καλύτερη εμπειρία gaming από το Apple TV. Η διάθεση των games στο AppleTV App store είναι σχετικά μικρή και η εμπειρία στα παιχνίδια με το apple remote απλά απογοητευτική. Άρα χρειάζεσαι ένα "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. Άρα βάλε άλλα 60-90 ευρώ στο budget σου. Άρα το φτάσαμε το playstation. Έστω μεταχείρα.
Ενδιαφέρεσαι ακόμα για Apple TV ε; Οκ, οκ σου προσφέρει επίσης πρόσβαση στις φωτογραφίες σου, στην μουσική σου και θεωρητικά στα podcasts σου (εμένα δεν παίζουν). Επίσης έχει καλό YouTube App, και αν είσαι καμένος με YouTube και θες να το 'χεις και στην TV σου, τότε μετράει.
Αν δεν σε ενδιαφέρουν τα παραπάνω, τότε γιατί διαβάζεις ακόμα; Κάτι τελευταίο λοιπόν, κάνει και screen mirroring από το iPhone/iPad/Mac σου, κάτι που μπορεί να σου χρησιμεύσει κάποια στιγμή. Πάντως δοκίμασα να "κλέψω" και να κάνω mirroring παιχνίδια από το iPhone στην TV, αλλά είχαν μεγάλο lag.
Για να καταλήξουμε λοιπόν κάπου, στην Ελλάδα από streaming υπηρεσίες μόνο Netflix έχει, σαν gaming system είναι κακό και τα υπόλοιπα που προσφέρει τα κάνει καλά, αν σε ενδιαφέρουν βεβαίως. Και κάτι τελευταίο και σημαντικό: Είμαι πολύ απογοητευμένος από το apple remote και από την περιήγηση του χρήστη γενικότερα στα μενού, μακράν το χειρότερο User eXperience σε συσκευή της Apple. Έναν μήνα μετά ακόμα να τα συνηθίσω. Α! Και η Siri δεν λειτουργεί στην Ελλάδα. Μόνο για dictation. Και επίσης, ούτε το TV App της Apple έχουμε στην Ελλάδα το οποίο συγκεντρώνει όλες τις συνδρομητικές υπηρεσίες streaming σε μία ενιαία. Λογικό, αφού έχουμε μόνο Netflix, τι να συγκεντρώσει;
Άραααα, που καταλήγουμε; Δεν είναι κακό το AppleTV, απλά προσπαθεί να κάνει πολλά πράγματα ταυτόχρονα και κάποια τα κάνει καλά (Netflix, YouTube, Screen Mirroring) κάποια κακά (User experience, Gaming) και τα υπόλοιπα μάλλον αδιάφορα. Είπα να ενημερώσω το review μιας και τα πράγματα έχουν αλλάξει ελαφρώς προς το καλύτερο. Πλέον στο Apple TV έχεις και το Apple TV+ σαν επιλογή για streaming.
Η διάθεση των παιχνιδιών συνεχίζει και είναι απογοητευτική στο Apple TV (σε σχέση με το iPad πχ) και θα 'λεγα ότι δεν βλέπω καμία εξέλιξη σε αυτό τον τομέα. ΑΛΛΑ: Πλέον υπάρχει η επιλογή της συνδρομητικής υπηρεσίας Apple Arcade όπου εκεί έχεις επιλογή για πάνω από 100 παιχνίδια, τα οποία όμως ως επί των πλείστων θα τα χαρακτήριζα ως "casual". Μην περιμένετε να δείτε καμία υπερπαραγωγή τύπου Witcher ξέρω εγώ... Αλλά όπως και να χει, υπάρχουν κάποιες καλές επιλογές για να σκοτώσεις τον χρόνο σου.
Ίσως το μεγαλύτερο θετικό update - νέο είναι ότι πλέον τα PS4 και XBox controllers είναι 100% συμβατά με το Apple TV, τα οποία είναι αρκετά φθηνότερα από τα MFi controllers. Και λειτουργούν (σχεδόν) άψογα (δεν υπάρχει ακόμη υποστήριξη για vibration).
Μετά από 2-3 χρόνια χρήσης αυτό που δεν έχει αλλάξει καθόλου για εμένα είναι ο εκνευρισμός σχετικά με το Apple Remote. Θεωρώ πως είναι το χειρότερο προϊόν που έχει βγάλει ποτέ η Apple και όχι μόνο. Το μισούμε όλοι στην οικογένεια, θέλω απλά να το δω να καίγεται.
Για αυτόν τον λόγο καθώς και για την τσιμπημένη τιμή του (έχοντας υπόψη και όλα τα παραπάνω), θα κρατήσω την βαθμολογία των 3 αστεριών

Για αρχή θα πω ότι είναι μόνο για χρήστες που έχουν συσκευές Apple αλλιώς πάνε τζάμπα τα λεφτά !!! Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι απλά απαράμιλλη ιδιαίτερα εύκολο στην χρήση και αν κάποιος θέλει να αναπαράγει αρχεία διαφορετικά από το format της Apple δεν έχει παρά να αγοράσει την εφαρμογή Infuse που είναι ο ελβετικός σουγιάς των format !!! Βασικό στοιχείο αποτελεί το ότι αν κάποιος θέλει να φτιάξει Apple HomeKit πρέπει να έχει Apple TV στο σπίτι οπότε αυτή είναι άλλη μια χρήση του !!! Συνδεσιμότητα σταθερή χωρίς προβλήματα μέσω WiFi ή Ethernet !!!

Well, I've had it here for a while, mainly because I have Homekit and wanted it. I can watch Apple TV+ through it (they gave me a free subscription for a year, I don't know why), Netflix (with Dolby Atmos in some works), and also with Infuse, I can watch whatever content I want from my Nas server that I have downloaded. So, for someone who wants to watch content they have downloaded with Infuse, Plex is the solution. Netflix and Apple TV+ are subscription services. Now, with Arcade, you can also play games, although I'm not much of a gamer!

If you are not a Mac lover and do not have a Mac ecosystem set up, there is no reason to go for the Apple TV. You can do your job with any other TV box.
It is not customizable at all, you will not be able to connect a hard drive, the gaming experience is very basic, but the image quality on the other hand is amazing, as well as the sound.
Yes, you can mirror your mobile photos, but in games, you will be annoyed by the lag. I also tried to mirror a movie from my Mac with not good results.
If you want to set up a homekit, it is necessary for it to function as a hub, possibly the most expensive on the market, but hey, you're Apple :D
It works perfectly with Netflix and possibly with the arrival of Disney+ & appletv+, the device may gain another meaning, but until then... stick to basics.

Αν και μιλάμε για ένα από τα πιο ποιοτικά TV Boxes που υπάρχουν στην αγορά στην Ελλάδα τουλάχιστον αδικείται από την ίδια την εταιρεία που το παράγει με τη μη διαθεσιμότητα όλων των υπηρεσιών ή των app που έχει καθώς επίσης και με την απαράδεκτη τιμολογιακή πολιτική της για ταινίες και μουσική, το οποίο βέβαια είναι ένα άλλο θέμα.
Αν δεν είσαι mac lover και δεν έχεις στημένο οικοσύστημα mac δεν υπάρχει λόγος να πας στο apple tv. Μπορείς να κάνεις τη δουλειά σου με ένα οποιοδήποτε άλλο tv box.
Δεν είναι παραμετροποιήσιμο καθόλου, δε θα μπορέσεις να συνδέσεις σκληρό δίσκο, το gaming experience είναι διαίτερα basic, η ποιότητα εικόνας από την άλλη είναι εκπληκτική όπως και ο ήχος.
Ναι μπορείς να κάνεις mirroring το κινητό σου φωτογραφίες άλλα σε παιχνίδια θα εκνευριστείς από το lag, δοκίμασα επίσης να κάνω mirroring ταινία από το mac μου με όχι καλά αποτελέσματα.
Αν θέλεις να στήσεις ένα homekit είναι απαραίτητο για να λειτουργήσει ως hub, το ακριβότερο ενδεχομένως της αγοράς άλλα apple είσαι :D

ΑΛΛΑ: Πλέον υπάρχει η επιλογή της συνδρομητικής υπηρεσίας Apple Arcade όπου εκεί έχεις επιλογή για πάνω από 100 παιχνίδια, τα οποία όμως ως επί των πλείστων θα τα χαρακτήριζα ως "casual". Μην περιμένετε να δείτε καμία υπερπαραγωγή τύπου Witcher ξέρω εγώ... Αλλά όπως και να χει, υπάρχουν κάποιες καλές επιλογές για να σκοτώσεις τον χρόνο σου.
Ίσως το μεγαλύτερο θετικό update - νέο είναι ότι πλέον τα PS4 και XBox controllers είναι 100% συμβατά με το Apple TV, τα οποία είναι αρκετά φθηνότερα από τα MFi controllers. Και λειτουργούν (σχεδόν) άψογα (δεν υπάρχει ακόμη υποστήριξη για vibration).
Μετά από 2-3 χρόνια χρήσης αυτό που δεν έχει αλλάξει καθόλου για εμένα είναι ο εκνευρισμός σχετικά με το Apple Remote. Θεωρώ πως είναι το χειρότερο προϊόν που έχει βγάλει ποτέ η Apple και όχι μόνο. Το μισούμε όλοι στην οικογένεια, θέλω απλά να το δω να καίγεται.
Για αυτόν τον λόγο καθώς και για την τσιμπημένη τιμή του (έχοντας υπόψη και όλα τα παραπάνω), θα κρατήσω την βαθμολογία των 3 αστεριών

Η ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι απλά απαράμιλλη ιδιαίτερα εύκολο στην χρήση και αν κάποιος θέλει να αναπαράγει αρχεία διαφορετικά από το format της Apple δεν έχει παρά να αγοράσει την εφαρμογή Infuse που είναι ο ελβετικός σουγιάς των format !!! Βασικό στοιχείο αποτελεί το ότι αν κάποιος θέλει να φτιάξει Apple HomeKit πρέπει να έχει Apple TV στο σπίτι οπότε αυτή είναι άλλη μια χρήση του !!! Συνδεσιμότητα σταθερή χωρίς προβλήματα μέσω WiFi ή Ethernet !!!
A very good machine, BUT with the locking logic that Apple has, it simply destroys this product as well. Since I also have the Xiaomi TV Box in 4K, I prefer it more (even though Android TV is completely unacceptable) just because you can connect whatever you want via USB. However, the logic of TV BOXes (Apple TV 4K - Xiaomi TV Box 4K) that they ONLY go into Sleep mode and cannot be turned off is ridiculous. Illogical.
Ένα πολύ καλό μηχάνημα, ΑΛΛΑ με την λογική του κλειδώματος που έχει η Apple απλά καταστρέφει και αυτό το προϊόν της. Μιας κι έχω και το Xiaomi TV Box σε 4K το προτιμώ περισσότερο (και ας είναι επιεικώς απαράδεκτο το Android TV) μόνο και μόνο επειδή μπορείς να συνδέσεις μέσω usb ότι θες. Πάντως η λογική των tv BOX (Apple TV 4k - Xiaomi TV box 4k) ότι μπαίνουν ΜΌΝΟ σε Sleep mode και δεν γίνεται turn off είναι για κλάματα. Παράλογο.

Well, I've had it here for a while, mainly because I have Homekit and wanted it. I can watch Apple TV+ through it (they gave me a free subscription for a year, I don't know why), Netflix (with Dolby Atmos in some works), and also with Infuse, I can watch whatever content I want from my Nas server that I have downloaded. So, for someone who wants to watch content they have downloaded with Infuse, Plex is the solution. Netflix and Apple TV+ are subscription services. Now, with Arcade, you can also play games, although I'm not much of a gamer!

Yes, you can mirror your mobile photos, but in games, you will be annoyed by the lag. I also tried to mirror a movie from my Mac with not good results.

It works perfectly with Netflix and possibly with the arrival of Disney+ & appletv+, the device may gain another meaning, but until then... stick to basics.

Αν και μιλάμε για ένα από τα πιο ποιοτικά TV Boxes που υπάρχουν στην αγορά στην Ελλάδα τουλάχιστον αδικείται από την ίδια την εταιρεία που το παράγει με τη μη διαθεσιμότητα όλων των υπηρεσιών ή των app που έχει καθώς επίσης και με την απαράδεκτη τιμολογιακή πολιτική της για ταινίες και μουσική, το οποίο βέβαια είναι ένα άλλο θέμα.
Αν δεν είσαι mac lover και δεν έχεις στημένο οικοσύστημα mac δεν υπάρχει λόγος να πας στο apple tv. Μπορείς να κάνεις τη δουλειά σου με ένα οποιοδήποτε άλλο tv box.
Δεν είναι παραμετροποιήσιμο καθόλου, δε θα μπορέσεις να συνδέσεις σκληρό δίσκο, το gaming experience είναι διαίτερα basic, η ποιότητα εικόνας από την άλλη είναι εκπληκτική όπως και ο ήχος.
Ναι μπορείς να κάνεις mirroring το κινητό σου φωτογραφίες άλλα σε παιχνίδια θα εκνευριστείς από το lag, δοκίμασα επίσης να κάνω mirroring ταινία από το mac μου με όχι καλά αποτελέσματα.
Αν θέλεις να στήσεις ένα homekit είναι απαραίτητο για να λειτουργήσει ως hub, το ακριβότερο ενδεχομένως της αγοράς άλλα apple είσαι :D
Με netflix δουλεύει τέλεια και ενδεχομένως με τον ερχομο (?) του Dsiney+ & applettv+ να αποκτήσει άλλο νόημα η συσκευή άλλα μέχρι τότε.......stick to basics

So, are you interested in Netflix? Alright. There are cheaper ways to watch Netflix on your dumbTV, are you still interested in Apple TV?
Okay then. Are you also interested in gaming on your TV? Trust me, there are better gaming systems for your TV, and if you don't want to go for expensive solutions like PlayStation, I would recommend a retro console like NES Classic, for example. Seriously, you'll have a better gaming experience than with Apple TV. The selection of games in the Apple TV App store is relatively small, and the gaming experience with the Apple remote is simply disappointing. So, you'll need a "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. So, add another 60-90 euros to your budget. So, we've reached PlayStation. Even if it's a used one.
Are you still interested in Apple TV? Okay, okay, it also offers access to your photos, music, and theoretically your podcasts (they don't work for me). It also has a good YouTube app, so if you're obsessed with YouTube and want it on your TV, then it counts.
If you're not interested in the above, then why are you still reading? One last thing, it does screen mirroring from your iPhone/iPad/Mac, which might come in handy at some point. However, I tried to "steal" and mirror games from my iPhone to the TV, but there was significant lag.
So, to sum up, in Greece, we only have Netflix for streaming services, as a gaming system, it's not good, and the rest it offers is done well, if you're interested, of course. And one last important thing: I am very disappointed with the Apple remote and the overall user experience in navigating through menus, by far the worst user experience on an Apple device. It's been a month and I still haven't gotten used to it. Oh! And Siri doesn't work in Greece. Only for dictation. And also, we don't even have the Apple TV app in Greece, which gathers all the streaming subscription services into one unified app. Makes sense, since we only have Netflix, what else would it gather?
So, where do we end up? Apple TV is not bad, it just tries to do too many things at once, and some it does well (Netflix, YouTube, Screen Mirroring), some it does poorly (User experience, Gaming), and the rest is probably irrelevant. In other words, it's a good product, but not "Apple" good, and in Greece, where we don't have enough services, it's probably not worth the money.

I thought I'd update the review since things have slightly changed for the better. Now on Apple TV, you also have the option of Apple TV+ for streaming.
The availability of games continues to be disappointing on Apple TV (compared to, let's say, the iPad), and I would say I don't see any progress in this area. BUT: Now there is the option of the Apple Arcade subscription service, where you have a choice of over 100 games, which I would mostly characterize as "casual." Don't expect to see any blockbuster titles like The Witcher, you know... But anyway, there are some good options to kill time.
Perhaps the biggest positive update is that now PS4 and Xbox controllers are 100% compatible with Apple TV, which are much cheaper than MFi controllers. And they work (almost) flawlessly (vibration support is not available yet).
After 2-3 years of use, what hasn't changed at all for me is the frustration regarding the Apple Remote. I consider it the worst product Apple has ever released, and not only that. We all hate it in the family, I just want to see it burn.
For this reason, as well as the inflated price (considering all the above), I will give it a rating of 3 stars

Ενδιαφέρεσαι για Netflix λοιπόν; Ωραία. Υπάρχουν πιο φθηνοί τρόποι για να βλέπεις Netflix στην dumbTV σου, ενδιαφέρεσαι ακόμα για το AppleTV;
Οκ λοιπόν. Ενδιαφέρεσαι και για gaming στην TV σου; Πίστεψέ με, υπάρχουν καλύτερα συστήματα gaming για την TV σου και αν δεν θες να πας σε ακριβες λύσεις, playstation κλπ, θα σου πρότεινα καμία retro μηχανή, NES Classic κλπ. Σοβαρά τώρα, θα έχεις καλύτερη εμπειρία gaming από το Apple TV. Η διάθεση των games στο AppleTV App store είναι σχετικά μικρή και η εμπειρία στα παιχνίδια με το apple remote απλά απογοητευτική. Άρα χρειάζεσαι ένα "Made for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV" game controller. Άρα βάλε άλλα 60-90 ευρώ στο budget σου. Άρα το φτάσαμε το playstation. Έστω μεταχείρα.
Ενδιαφέρεσαι ακόμα για Apple TV ε; Οκ, οκ σου προσφέρει επίσης πρόσβαση στις φωτογραφίες σου, στην μουσική σου και θεωρητικά στα podcasts σου (εμένα δεν παίζουν). Επίσης έχει καλό YouTube App, και αν είσαι καμένος με YouTube και θες να το 'χεις και στην TV σου, τότε μετράει.
Αν δεν σε ενδιαφέρουν τα παραπάνω, τότε γιατί διαβάζεις ακόμα; Κάτι τελευταίο λοιπόν, κάνει και screen mirroring από το iPhone/iPad/Mac σου, κάτι που μπορεί να σου χρησιμεύσει κάποια στιγμή. Πάντως δοκίμασα να "κλέψω" και να κάνω mirroring παιχνίδια από το iPhone στην TV, αλλά είχαν μεγάλο lag.
Για να καταλήξουμε λοιπόν κάπου, στην Ελλάδα από streaming υπηρεσίες μόνο Netflix έχει, σαν gaming system είναι κακό και τα υπόλοιπα που προσφέρει τα κάνει καλά, αν σε ενδιαφέρουν βεβαίως. Και κάτι τελευταίο και σημαντικό: Είμαι πολύ απογοητευμένος από το apple remote και από την περιήγηση του χρήστη γενικότερα στα μενού, μακράν το χειρότερο User eXperience σε συσκευή της Apple. Έναν μήνα μετά ακόμα να τα συνηθίσω. Α! Και η Siri δεν λειτουργεί στην Ελλάδα. Μόνο για dictation. Και επίσης, ούτε το TV App της Apple έχουμε στην Ελλάδα το οποίο συγκεντρώνει όλες τις συνδρομητικές υπηρεσίες streaming σε μία ενιαία. Λογικό, αφού έχουμε μόνο Netflix, τι να συγκεντρώσει;
