Hmm, after my experience with cicalfate - which is an incredible healing cream that eliminates pimples and soothes the skin - I had high expectations for this specific product. I imagined it would be a light, pure cream that would absorb immediately and be suitable for everyday use. The reality is completely different.
The first thing that bothered me was the scent, a powdery fruity fragrance that lingers for a long time. Come on, Avene, you claim to be a pioneer in cosmetics for sensitive skin and you still haven't removed fragrances from your basic creams as if we buy them to smell nice.
The second thing that bothered me was that it does absorb, but it leaves a strange thin film that feels velvety and shiny. I can feel it on my skin and I don't like it. Maybe it's because of the mineral oil it contains?
The third and most significant deal breaker was that instead of feeling comfort and relief, I feel like it irritates certain areas of my face after using the cream.
On the positive side, at least I didn't see any new pimples (yet) and it does moisturize the skin. I applied it at night and woke up with slightly more hydrated skin than usual. But what can I do...
Okay, I've only used it for two days and I'm already on the hunt for my next moisturizer. And I don't think it will be from Avene.
For reference, I am 43 with dry skin.
