Description

The book "Professional Calculations for Automotive Engineers" was written according to the requirements of modern pedagogy, as a teaching and exercise book.

It is based on the basic knowledge of general calculations, which are covered in the first chapter. In the two following chapters, topics related to technical calculations and calculations concerning automobiles are solved.

The fourth chapter develops a new chapter created with examination exercises on integrated mechanisms, which contributes to the interconnection of specialties according to the reorganization of education in professions.

Each chapter methodically develops the taught material and is supplemented with many examples, exercises, images, and representations. The exercises provide the student the opportunity to apply what they have learned to practical applications, thus reinforcing the material as well as deepening their knowledge.

In the calculations, magnitude equations (weighted) according to DIN 1313 are used. These are particularly emphasized. Where a simplification is deemed necessary for better understanding, the types are presented formatted with defined units and numerical equations according to DIN 1313I and are specifically highlighted with a background. The unit equations are on a grey background.

Noteworthy proposals and calculation rules, which are important for the student, are written within a frame.

The book was written for the apprentice but also for the craftsman and forms a unit with the other books in the "Automotive Library" series by Rolf Gscheidle.
