The work of Dr. Dimoutsos on the utilization of human resources as a means of increasing the productivity of hospital work comes at a time when the healthcare sector is among the top priorities, a matter of decisive importance and significance, especially since the provision of healthcare services in our country is still not even remotely accepted.

Therefore, it presents a contemporary character, while simultaneously being of direct interest not only to the specialist but also to the Greek citizen who understands the social benefit that will arise from the proper use of economic issues and healthcare policy.

Dr. Dimoutsos, who studied as a hospital administrative manager at the Medical School of Athens, proceeded with his research based on specific data, the result of arduous and lengthy searching in the field of health, which is approached as a fundamental social good that is not related to a common consumer good.

Considering that healthcare services are neither provided alone nor grouped together, and given that the central role in their design, production, and provision is played by human resources, especially when they are highly specialized, the importance of examining the issue from an economic-investment perspective becomes apparent.
