Former owner of Huawei P9 lite Mini, which I parted with after 4.5 years. After 1 week of use, I will share my experience with the Google Pixel 2 XL. The purchase was made at the price of €170 (4/64GB version), strictly for professional use, so the review will be accordingly.
The minimalist Android 8 software, combined with the hardware, works very quickly (personally, I will not make the available upgrade to Android 10, I will keep the factory software).
The battery lasts for 24 hours and in some cases even more. However, it will NOT cover the energy needs of users who spend a lot of time on social media and video games.
Its camera competes directly with those of renowned expensive brands.
It is capable of multitasking (although it has not been tested under extreme conditions).
The sound is very satisfactory, with a pleasant large screen, but it has the disadvantage of being difficult to see in the sun.

*Great value for money choice, as it used to be the flagship of previous years.
*It is not suitable for potential buyers who need: 5G, 5000mAh, 50W charger, 60MP camera, 500GB storage space.

After 2+ years of use, I also want to give my own review. I will start with my impression: the phone is the best I've ever had in my hands (and I've had several phones). Now I will analyze this impression. For me, the most important features of a phone are "Low SAR", "fast operating system" and "good camera". It excels in all three to a great extent. Additionally, its price is now very cheap. Before, I had the S7 edge (equally exceptional phone) but compared to the 2 XL, it falls behind. They also did a great job with the camera, and apart from the clarity it provides in morning shots, you will be amazed at the night shots. Now, other newer devices may have a similar function - maybe. However, we are talking about a 2017 model that now costs less than 180€. The so-called burn-in issue fortunately did not occur for me. The battery, which some say is unsatisfactory, depends on usage. I consider my usage to be normal (with my 3G, social media, occasional games, sometimes more calls, sometimes a lot more). I can easily get through the day, even on difficult days. Yes, there have been rare occasions when I had to recharge it. There were days when I made a call on Facebook for over an hour and it consumed the battery much faster, as with all phones. If the comparison is made with Xiaomi/Huawei phones that have 5000mAh, then nominally it loses. But practically, I'm not so sure. The issue with the battery is not just about nominal capacity, but also about overall management, duration, etc. I believe that the battery issue here is just fine. The operating system still works flawlessly today (knock on wood!). It's nothing like what used to happen in the past when applications would burden the phone and you would gradually see it slow down. At least with the 2 XL, this hasn't happened (yet). The speaker is very good. So, aesthetically and functionally, I am very satisfied. However, let me also mention its negatives:
1. I don't like that it doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack. I have to use an adapter in the charging port.
2. I don't accept the fact that non-Google accessories (e.g. hands-free adapter) are not recognized.
3. Having the option for dual SIM might have been a good addition. Personally, it doesn't bother me, but I think it is necessary for some people.
4. The screen doesn't perform well in direct sunlight. I always compare it to the S7 edge, which worked magically when you put it in the sun. Here, that doesn't happen, you can't see well.

For me, these are the only negatives of the device and I consider them relatively minor. Burn-in is a phenomenon in many devices. So, I would say it's a matter of luck and not a general finding in the device. I repeat, the battery is flawless. The reviewers who left complaints should also mention their usage. Obviously, if you push it to the limit, it will let you down. And there, I would really like them to tell me which phone doesn't have this issue (overall, not just the first 3 months)! The increase in temperature: I have noticed it when I charge the phone with a fast charger and it reaches maximum charging speed. So, I'm not sure why this finding is recorded.

In conclusion, you can also compare it to the next Pixel phones and the difference is not that big. Now, with the 6/6 Pro, I imagine there will be a significant difference (SHOULD be). But now we are talking about this specific phone (2 XL) at its current price (<200 euros). I don't want it to seem like an advertisement but I believe it is a sure choice.

For the price here, don't even think about it, unless you have extra. The phone simply doesn't disappoint. Coming from a redmi pro after 2 and a half years of use and before that a nexus 4 after 7 years of use, I have to say that I don't want to go back from stock android, both in terms of performance and user experience. The cameras are state of the art, the 60hz on the screen is a real sweet spot for how smooth it feels, and of course the size is just right for those of us who don't want to carry a phablet and need something more compact, easily manageable with one hand and comfortably fitting in the pocket. I definitely wouldn't classify myself as a hardcore or power user. I spend a total of 1-2 hours on social media, have chat and video calls for 30 minutes to 1 hour a day, and definitely watch YouTube for about the same amount of time. With this average usage and considering that I always charge from 20% to a maximum of 85%, the phone lasts for 10 and a half hours of screen-on time and I charge it every 2 days. I can't believe it, the 4,000mAh battery they gave it along with their management is unreal! And we're talking about the first week of use, but also about permanently having the screen at 70-80% brightness, because okay, no matter how you look at it, it's one of the best and most honest flexible OLEDs, but it doesn't reach the vibrancy and saturation of Samsung's that makes you feel like you're going inside. If I had to find 2 negatives, which haven't affected me so far, I would say that it doesn't take an SD card (something that will definitely hurt in the future) and the fact that even though the form factor could handle it, it doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. Serious device, anyone who can understand my perspective and agrees should definitely check it out!

So I have it in my possession for 6 months so I can judge it correctly. First of all, I bought the phone used for 220, a very good deal.

Positives:

- Excellent software
- Incredible sound
- A beautiful OLED screen, enjoying watching Netflix on the phone
- Excellent photos, especially with portrait mode, the quality is truly professional
- The CPU doesn't lag, it can handle anything you want
- Also, something I add to the positives is that it is relatively small. I have relatively large hands, but I can use it with one hand only.
- It is quite durable against falls
- Now let's move on to the negatives

Negatives:

- The battery lasts only four to five hours with heavy use (Instagram, Messenger, Netflix, and various apps)
- Bad fingerprint sensor, I don't know why, but many times it doesn't work at all, it just makes mistakes four or five times and then I have to enter the code
- Selfie camera, personally, I believe it should be improved, for example, in low light conditions indoors, the quality is tragic, it's only good when you use the portrait mode with lighting
- Videos are not good, almost always they are not what you expected from a pixel
- And one more thing is that for me, the price now at 700 is ridiculous, but if you find it for 200-250, it will be a very good choice.

Owner of a Google Pixel 2, but nevertheless I would not buy a Google Pixel again, and they should be ashamed of asking people to buy such expensive phones. Firstly, the simplest thing... let the phone do screen mirroring and generally connect with other devices. It never connected to my new Samsung 55 TV... in the car, with Bluetooth, we fight every time to connect. Also, there is no service anywhere in Athens, because most people say it's too expensive and if you find out and show that, let's say, I have a big wallet, tell me, a change in the screen glass can cost 300 euros. On the other hand, there are no headphones, as we opened three packages in the store and they told us that the device is not genuine... Thank God and all the couriers, they had put a USB3 to jack converter for headphones inside the package. But if you forgot about it and said okay, I will buy USD3 headphones to listen... you would be left with the headphones in your hand... Also, I found a case in England and imported it... because no one had any except the universal ones... give it, now it's worth 600 euros and then cry... the only advantage is its camera, which was indeed better than the iPhone's, let's be fair...

Good evening, the mobile phone is a beast. I got it for 480€, it's worth the money and more. I searched a lot before buying it, there is nothing better for the same price. It is beautiful, with a very good design, elegant, users of other brands envied the design.

-The camera is amazing, takes very good photos, portraits, videos, compared to the iPhone X that cost double, it was the same and in some functions even better. Like the night mode function.

-I was impressed by the Google function that gives you unlimited space on Drive for photos and videos that are automatically uploaded at night while you sleep and the device is connected to WiFi. I can shoot 5 GB 4K videos without worrying about storage space.

Overall, my experience with the mobile phone is very good. It is much better than many more expensive phones. Compared to the Pixel 3XL, I chose the 2XL because they don't have any crazy differences, they are almost the same in everything, especially in the camera which interested me. I hope I helped.

Owner of the phone for 2 months now, so I have a complete picture. I haven't used a Google device since the Nexus 6. Once you get the Pixel, I don't think there's any going back. The camera is simply perfect, there is no comparison with iPhone, Samsung, or Huawei. I don't know how they managed it, but this phone with a single camera takes unreal photos. Google has taken it to another level. It's fast as a device and doesn't heat up much even after prolonged use. The speakers are very good. The battery lasts for a day with continuous use. I haven't noticed the blue tint on the screen that some people talk about, maybe because I got it late and it's from a different batch? I don't know. Overall, it's great! I don't have anything negative to say.

Edit: 08/27/19 The phone is amazing. It will also receive Android 10 on September 3rd. Nighttime photos continue to impress and compete with today's flagships. I believe it's a great value for money, especially if you get it with a receipt. The only downside you could say is the screen, which doesn't have the best brightness. I'm eagerly waiting for the 4 series

Zero lag, everything happens very quickly, unlocks immediately and the camera opens instantly. It has not crashed, it has no bloatware.

The battery can last 2 days with minimal use, while with extensive use it lasts a day. The cameras (front and back) take impressive photos with great "portrait mode" and "night mode" thanks to the extensive processing of the phone, so it doesn't need to have 2 rear cameras. Its speakers are very loud, the build quality seems very good, the POLED screen with real black and colors that I find very nice. Call quality is impeccable.

The software and voice commands (Google Assistant) are impressive in how well they work now, while the assistant can be used simply by pressing the side (and it's not bixby). The only problem is that it doesn't recognize contacts written in Greek as voice commands...

Its size is borderline for me, but it has a very good grip. The blue tint of the screen when viewed at an angle has not bothered me at all, it goes unnoticed.

Negatively, it does not have a mini-jack, and there are few accessories in Greece as it is not widespread (mainly due to the high price). For example, the "good" dome whitestone glass is not even available in Greece and one has to order it from abroad (50 euros +). Similarly, the range of cases is limited.

I combined it with a very sturdy spigen rugged armor case which has bumpers to protect the screen and added a zagg screen protector (from mediamarkt) which is cut specifically for the phone at that moment and has a warranty.

Not 5 but 10 stars for this BEAST.
I was a loyal owner of Samsung devices.
The transition didn't scare me much as I had read comments and knew what to expect.
The differences with the Pixel 3 are minimal, mainly in some camera features that you can download from xda and install on this device.
I know people who went from Note 8 to Pixel 3XL and ended up with Pixel 2XL due to its better battery life.
The battery lasts a whole day for me personally, as I use it constantly!
--- Unfortunately, it doesn't have fast charge and that bothers me because it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes for a full charge. However, the charger that comes with it (18w) is different from the one in stores, it has a different texture and quality. But the fast charging issue doesn't bother me anymore because I charge it every night, so I manage.
-- The phone supports eSIM (new generation SIM cards).
-- It doesn't come with headphones, unfortunately, and to buy the original ones you can only get them from abroad since there is no Google Store in Greece.
-- I got it from a discount store, 483 value for money, from a German dealership. It comes with a 2-year warranty, but there is no service in Greece, so if something happens, you have to contact Google internationally via email or phone and they will handle it without having to send it back to the store where you bought it.
-- It needs a screen protector and you can get the ultra zagg for 18 euros, with nanotechnology and a 6-month warranty. (I bought a Spigen case from the discount store, it fits perfectly)
-- The phone is fully customizable without voiding the warranty, for example, if you install a custom ROM.
-- The fingerprint sensor is ridiculously fast.
-- The speakers are excellent!
-- The screen is quite good but not as good as AMOLED.
-- A phone that will receive updates for 3 more years with new software, and of course, you get the updates first.

Former owner of Galaxy S8. One negative is the size because I got used to the compact dimensions of the S8. Apart from that, it only has positives.
There is a blue shift when tilted, but you have to view it at an angle, which you never do. In other words, you have to go looking for it.
The screen is otherwise amazing with the latest update. Same color saturation as a Samsung screen and high brightness.
Powerful and clear sound from the front stereo speakers. Compared to those, the speaker on the S8 was a joke and a half.
Functional sphere. What else can you say... pure Android!
Latest updates at any time. Currently on 8.1 while the S8 is still on the first version that was released in May '17... meaning 7.0.
Unlimited storage space for photos and videos in original size on Google Photos until 1/2021.
Its camera is the best available on a mobile phone. You press and it comes out perfectly. You don't need anything else. Everyone says it's the best camera, after all. Now, with version 8.1, it unlocked the additional camera processor for even better results and faster HDR+ photos. When everyone else needs two lenses, the Pixel 2 does it better with just one!
The battery is truly amazing with a very long duration. The 3520mAh, however, need their time to charge... 140 minutes from 0-100%.
Overall, very satisfied. It's a top mobile phone. It's worth the money and many people will say, "With this, I'm buying an iPhone X."
Whoever wants to show off should get an iPhone X...

Hello, I am the owner of the Google Pixel 2 XL (64GB).

In my opinion, there is no better device than this one, NONE. As for the problems you may think of:

- BlueTint what?! I am looking at this device from all angles and I don't notice anything. Maybe it needs a white background to be visible, but even on the Google Search homepage, nothing is apparent.

- Speakers/Microphones, I haven't encountered any issues at all. I can hear clearly and be heard clearly in calls, video calls, and plain videos.

- Battery? I received a notification at 15% while playing a game, and after a long time, I thought it would eventually shut down, but it was still at 9%.

- Camera - forget it - side by side with the iPhone X, the X's selfie looks like it belongs to the S7.

- Speed, freezes, etc. - incredible speed to the point where sometimes you can't keep up.

- Games, many models may have the Adreno GPU, but for some reason, it behaves differently on all devices. So, compared to a friend's Note 8 in the same game (Lineage Revolution), the difference in frames and smoothness was easy to notice. (Both phones were brand new)

- Whoever wants the BEST, gets it. Whoever doesn't want it has other options, but one thing is for sure, it will maintain its value more than other models at the moment. Which means if you buy it with a receipt at the price of €800, you can sell it in August or September for the same amount and buy the Pixel 3 ;)

I am the owner of the pixel 2 XL 64gb since 27/11 and I can confidently say that it is the best device I have ever had. I previously owned the pixel XL and the galaxy s8+. First, I want to clarify some things that have caused criticism about the phone. The screen is very beautiful, there is an option to make it appear more vibrant, but I personally prefer more realistic colors. The blue tint is only visible from certain angles and I have never noticed it while using the phone, except when I tried to see it on a white background. My galaxy s8+ had the same issue, but the colors appeared more like a rainbow rather than just blue. This phone is perfect for someone who wants a fast device that doesn't crash or freeze, which I often experienced with the s8+. It doesn't have unnecessary features that will never be used, making it the best option on the market right now. Now that I have clarified that, I will write about the positives and negatives.

Positives:
1. Very fast (the most important aspect for me)
2. The best camera on a mobile device (front/back)
3. Sound (the front-facing speakers have incredibly clear and accurate sound without distortion)
4. Beautiful (I have it in white)
5. Battery lasts a day without charging, with 5-7 hours of screen usage
6. Updates are received immediately
7. Large screen for its dimensions (it also has other features with a smaller body/display ratio)

Negatives:
1. No headphone jack
2. It is large (I include this as a negative because it may be a downside for some people)
3. It doesn't come with headphones or a cable for PC in the package

Update: After a whole month of usage, I can confidently say that it is definitely the best device released in 2017. I have many apps installed (62), of which I use 40-50 daily, and the phone doesn't lag at all. I was surprised by something that happened yesterday. I had opened a game in the morning, but immediately closed it because I had work to do. Later, after 12 hours of using the phone for calls, social media, messages, browsing, etc., I opened the game and it was exactly where I left it. The RAM management is incredible!
