This educational book aims to provide basic academic-level knowledge on the structure and function of plant cells and tissues, with the expectation that it will serve as a foundation for the study of more specialized subjects later on.

Emphasis has been placed on the comprehensive presentation of topics and on the simplicity, clarity, and scientific documentation of the descriptions. The chapters and subchapters are presented, as far as possible, in a logically structured order, ensuring that the definition of each concept is made in the appropriate place.

This means that for better understanding, the reader is expected to study the book in sequence, from the beginning to the end. However, since neither the perfect logical structuring is possible nor is the reader obliged to follow a specific method of study, sufficient internal references and interconnections of information, terminology, images, and tables [within brackets] are included.

In the linguistic domain, an effort has been made to present the text in proper modern Greek, with continuous consultation and cross-referencing of relevant aids for the most accurate rendering.
