The Snugpak Stratosphere is a single-layer, one-person bivvi-style shelter with a freestanding dome around the head and shoulders. It features a side entrance with a 3/4-length zipper and a mosquito net at the front, which rolls away when not in use. A rear mesh vent helps promote airflow.

The ripstop nylon outer fabric has a 5000 mm HH polyurethane waterproof coating, and the seams are tape-sealed. The bathtub-style nylon floor also has a polyurethane coating, with a waterproof rating of 8000 mm HH. The poles are made of aluminium.
