Description

Description

The "Pteroessa" publishing house is pleased to present to the Greek public a landmark work by one of the greatest spiritual leaders of our time, the Dalai Lama, the exiled monarch of Tibet, who, despite being exiled and losing his spiritual leadership in his country, regained it as a Tibetan monk in the rest of the world.

The content of the book is authentic—it has not been taken from speeches—and according to him, it is the most important book he has ever written. In it, he talks about his life, his enthronement at the age of six as the fourteenth Dalai Lama, his education, his meetings with spiritual teachers and scientists.

With disarming honesty, he confesses that his Buddhist education and Buddhism in general, fell short when it came to connecting with modern science. As a child, he had received no education in mathematics, geology, chemistry, biology, or physics. In fact, he did not even know of the existence of these sciences at that time.

With humility and respect, he explores in depth and suggests ways for spirituality and science, these two sources of knowledge and prosperity for humanity, to find common ground and benefit from each other, for the greater good.
