It is 3.8W measured and has the same power menu as the other one with 5.8W (only L and H), it is exactly the same machine so get whichever is cheaper...

For its price, it is more than what you expect. I wouldn't say it's 8W, it doesn't perform that well

Parameterization via chirp is great!! It has more than covered its cost, as long as you know what you're buying... obviously it's VHF and requires visual contact to work... plenty of storage memories... and ease of use... what else do you want!

Bought it for 27 and something. I got fooled by the Baofeng or the store as it is only 8 watts on the sticker. The 8 watts have settings for low-mid-high and this one only has low-high, so it's with 5 watts. It's okay for its price, I added a bigger antenna and it does something.

It does exactly what it is designed to do and very well at that. It is definitely value for money and more.

There was usage between two cars and I can't say that I was satisfied. With the setting on HIGH and a route in the mountains as long as they had visual contact, it was excellent. As soon as the leading car turned and created a distance of 500-600 meters from the following car, the interference and communication difficulties began.

Unfortunately, I don't know if it is actually 8W or if they just stuck a piece of paper that says 8W. What is missing is the usual ability of the model to have L, M, and H options for emission power. What I received only has L and H. Finally, the sticker on the battery says BL-5L with 3800mAh. I searched and saw that the battery model is twice the size. I am a little disappointed, but at least it works and I have made some difficult communications in terms of distance, obstacles, and general conditions.

I tested it.1with its own antenna between apartment buildings 7 kilometers.2.with a mobile diamond 7900 antenna at 12 kilometers plus. And at 100 kilometers, 9 signals. I am at an altitude of 315 meters.3.Test in a village from a city with an intermediate elevation of 530 meters, forest distance of 10 kilometers brought me 7 signals. I am amazed, it's perfect. And the menu in the settings is very easy.

Perfect and radio and flashlight and range, it has a slightly low configuration due to its design but overall it's worth the 30 euros, with a better antenna it really competes with much more expensive ones.
I have also bought a larger extra battery and it lasts three days on standby and a little bit of broadcasting.

Very decent for 30 euros. Quite a quality construction. Good battery. For what it is, as it came with its antenna, very satisfactory reception and transmission range, modulation is a bit low. Measured with a bridge, it gave 4 watts and a little more... Overall, very happy with the purchase. Excellent value for money! (The 4 stars and not 5, for some minor bugs I found in the device's firmware and for some small difficulties in its handling)

After many tests with various antennas and with its own, I found out that it does not have good reception at all

I have both the 5.8w and the 8w.
Especially the 8W covers any need for group communication.
For even longer distance communication, then only our mobile phone.
