  • I was forced to proceed with this purchase because I had the previous hard drive mycloud and now Western Digital no longer supported its updates and I couldn't use it outside the house. It was only active on the local network. However, the new hard drive is faster with better software and an improved application on the smartphone. It is relatively quiet, so I recommend it. I bought it for 183€ and in my opinion, it is just right. Neither cheap nor expensive.

To say that he lost the file mask for a day?
    2. To say that you can't "pull" your files with USB?
    3. Moderate to... dangerous.

Guys, the machine is fine, but if you want to see photos and videos on your TV, never ever get it. I have sent messages to people many times to create an app for Android TV and they have written me not to say where... It's unacceptable that there is no app for Android TV while the competition, like Synology, has it

Unfortunately not what I expected, Western Digital destroys its products generation after generation, do not get it if you want a local Nas for the local network, this disk is exclusively made for cloud modifications, it does not have a webpage to configure it, for example, IP, etc., you cannot do anything with it, you can only see it through an app that you download on your desktop or mobile to view it from anywhere in the world as long as you have internet access. In other words, it is your personal cloud, something that previous WD models also did, it only gives you a local share called "public" that you cannot change or create another local share with permissions. Furthermore, when you connect a USB disk, it does not recognize it separately, the only thing it allows you to do is import the data from the USB disk to the Nas.

Update: Ultimately, I use it as it should be used, that is, to create your own personal cloud exclusively for your photo albums and videos, and it works perfectly, maybe even better than any Nas on the market. However, it does not suit those who want something different or more. If you want it to easily and quickly create your own cloud for your albums, it is the best. Once you download the application from WD and install it with your email and password, a network disk appears on your PC where you can copy any photos or videos from your computer to it, or even faster, you can connect a USB disk or flash drive with photos and quickly import them to the Nas. It can be connected to social networks (Facebook/Instagram) and pull photos from there. There is also a mobile application (iOS/Android) to manage it, add/view your photos. The nice thing is that it automatically organizes your photos chronologically and you can view your albums chronologically and jump to any date you want from anywhere in the world (as long as you have internet access, of course)
