Description

Discover the secrets of Danish parenting from the happiest parents in the world. Parents and educators focus on aspects such as socialization, autonomy, companionship, a democratic attitude, and self-esteem. They want their children to develop mental resilience and cultivate a strong internal compass that will guide them in their lives.

This book presents the six fundamental principles associated with the Danish way of raising children:

  • Play is essential for development and happiness.
  • Authenticity enhances trust, self-confidence, and internal balance.
  • Reframing helps children cope with tough times and see the bright side of life.
  • Empathy allows them to treat others with kindness.
  • No ultimatums means no fights for dominance, no red lines, no anger.
  • Companionship is a way for the family to enjoy their leisure time together.

By learning how to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere, we can improve family relationships. If we set aside the "I" and focus on the "we," we will avoid much unnecessary "drama" and the negativity that often arises at home.

With practical tips and inspiring examples, this invaluable book will help all parents raise the happiest children in the world.

This book is for you if...

  • Do you want to raise a child with a positive attitude towards life and themselves
  • Are you looking for a different, calmer, and more meaningful approach to parenting
  • Are you tired of conflict-based parenting models and seeking truly effective solutions
  • Do you want to understand how culture affects the parent-child relationship and what you can adopt

What will this book offer you?

A parenting model based on trust, play, acceptance, and conscious guidance. The authors combine Danish culture with practical examples and give you the “tools” to raise a mentally strong child.

Inside the book you will find:

  • The philosophy of P.A.R.E.N.T. – six key elements of Danish parenting
  • The importance of free play and non-comparative education
  • Ways to set boundaries with empathy and strengthen emotional resilience
  • Real-life examples from families and how their daily lives change
  • Tips on how to change your own mindset as a parent

The opinion of the experts

Read an excerpt

Very nice book! It's worth reading to get a bit in touch with Danish culture! I wish we had the same mentality!

I love Scandinavia and generally their mentality. Ideally, I would like to live in Denmark. However, I tried to read the book 3 times. I would get somewhere near the middle and leave it every time. The writing is somewhat boring. Other than that, personally I very much agree with the mentality of the Danes and ideally I would like to apply everything the book says, even though I grew up with a different mentality in Greece.

Excellent book!! I don't understand why someone would say bad things about it. What I liked the most are the examples it provides and how Danish parents react. It is very interesting!!!
