Description

Description

The first American edition of this work was published under the title Biochemistry in 1975. In the years that followed, "Stryer's Biochemistry," as it became more widely known, radically changed the way this scientific field was taught in the English-speaking world.

The same happened in Greece when the first Greek edition appeared, published in two volumes in 1994 and 1995, and it was a translation of the third American edition.

For four consecutive decades, the fundamental characteristics of the successive editions of the work, in both English and Greek, have remained unchanged: excellent structuring of the content, clarity of expression, rich illustration, description of the most recent research techniques and advances in theoretical research, and linkage of biochemical phenomena and processes with the theory of evolution, physiology, and medicine.

The same exact features characterize the latest Greek edition that you hold in your hands, which is a translation of the eighth (and most recent) American edition.
