I bought it in 2019 for 180 euros. I have created 4 accounts for automatic backup of photos from different mobile phones. Yes, it's not the fastest and if you want to use files from a laptop when you're not at home, you have to access it through the website. Today, with the prices of a 365 subscription, I do not recommend it. But back then, it was the best solution. The downside is that if something happens, you lose everything. Also, if you want it to work smoothly, get a small UPS and connect your router and hard drive to the UPS so that small power outages do not force it to reboot

Today, 3/4/2023, I received a notification from WD Discovery Desktop that its operation will be discontinued from June 2023. Therefore, I am forced to purchase another one in 2 months, unfortunately. Therefore, it is not worth even €50. I also provide the link to WD for you to read: https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detailweb/a_id/34904

As the title suggests, it is Home.
No photos, no videos, and that's it.
If you want a WD NAS, go for the EX series.

The usage I wanted was simple. To see the Public folder as a map on 5-6 computers and nothing else.
Exactly the same as the predecessor (WD mycloud) did, but unfortunately it doesn't...
If 3-4 people log in together, the rest stay out as if there is a limit on users.
The only solution is to unplug the LAN cable for 2-3 seconds and reconnect...
    Stay away from this one...
Better to get a small NAS (e.g. Synology) than this disk...

If you think you're going to buy a NAS, you're wrong! Read...
I have bought both previous models of the My Cloud series and indeed the previous models were NAS with a web interface and the ability to assign an IP. Suddenly, and with the same name of the My Cloud series, WD released a disk that is NOT a NAS. It is something like Google Drive. A space on the net for file storage. You can't even do a backup with a backup program like Easeus backup because My Cloud asks for credentials! Disk management is almost nonexistent! It does NOT have a web admin interface. It does NOT provide the ability to set an IP.
Complete disappointment. I think I wasted my money.

No function. It is not a NAS or FTP, only sync with one computer, slow unless you have expensive equipment. Only for home use and I wouldn't say there are better options.

The My Cloud Home series disk does NOT HAVE access to the Dashboard except through an account on WD.

It is NOT like the MyCloud series where you could hit the IP and enter the WEB Interface.
