We are experiencing absurdity, as productive forces are more developed than ever, yet the situation for the overwhelming majority of people is worsening. This is true not only for Greece but for the entire capitalist world.

One of the most glaring aspects of this absurdity is that instead of the time saved through automation resulting in the liberation of people from the burden of forced labor, it takes the form of unemployment, while at the same time the exploitation of those who continue to work intensifies.

This is due to the fact that the ruling class of capitalists, in the face of the new reality, not only does not voluntarily abolish itself, as some (such as Negri) claim, but in order to maintain its private property in the modern means of production and its power, it further exacerbates the contradictions of the system, with the main victims being the workers.

And all of this, while today, with the advancement of science and technology, it is possible, provided there is a overthrow of capitalism, for free time to become dominant, and for it to be the measure of wealth, rather than the degree of exploitation of one person by another.

In this direction, it is argued that within the framework of a revolutionary war of positions, the drastic reduction of working hours –without reduction in wages and intensification of labor– and not their maintenance, must become an immediate struggle demand for the popular movement and its agencies, a stronghold for immediate seizure.
