In Railway Empire, the action takes place in North America in the 1830s. You will create an extensive and detailed railway network. You will acquire over 40 different locomotives, designed with exceptional detail, and you will buy or build stations, maintenance buildings, factories, and tourist attractions to keep your travel network ahead of the competition. You will need to hire and manage your workforce to ensure an efficient railway service, while simultaneously developing over 300 technologies, from mechanical improvements to infrastructure and advanced workplace facilities. As you progress through five eras of technological innovation, you can't just build and research to reach the top - the competition never sleeps, and to keep your business on track, you will have to survive against up to three rival tycoons. To reach the top, you may need to resort to more underhanded tactics, attacking and sabotaging your opponents through raids and industrial espionage.
