The interpretation of Articles 249-294 of Law 4072/2012 (which relate to personal commercial companies) is the subject of this work.

The relationship and deviations from the company law of the Civil Code, which is the source of every personal company, was one of the objectives of this work, as was the critical highlighting of those elements or institutions that represent the innovations of the new law along with their procedural dimension.

The interpretation of the provisions is supplemented by six appendices on significant ancillary issues with obvious practical importance, such as the law firm, the civil company of Article 784 of the Civil Code with legal personality, and the tax treatment of personal companies.

This article-by-article interpretation confirms that the law of personal companies, precisely because contractual freedom predominates, is also the most difficult area of company law.

The work was contributed to by many distinguished scholars, with experience and theoretical training in company law.

It serves as a useful guide for the scholar and practitioner of corporate law.
