EDS-i Sound Generator & Expanded PCM Flash Memory

The Korg Kross 2-61 is built around the EDS-i sound engine, offering high-quality samples of acoustic pianos, electric pianos, organs, strings, lead and pad synthesizers, as well as modern drum kits. It features 128 MB of PCM Flash memory, allowing users to load additional specialized Korg sound libraries. With a maximum polyphony of up to 120 voices, it lets you create complex layered sounds and splits without losing notes.

Full Sampler & 16 Illuminated Pads

The front panel of the instrument features 16 illuminated pads with full sampling functionality (Pad Sampler). They allow you to record and recall up to 64 audio samples (4 banks x 16 pads) from the microphone or line input, as well as play audio files directly from an SD card. The pads can also be used to trigger rhythmic patterns, navigate steps in the Step Sequencer, or select programs.

Built-in Sequencer, Audio Recorder & Real-Time Controls

For creating and producing music, the Kross 2 features a 16-track MIDI sequencer, a Step Sequencer for quick rhythm programming, an automatic Arpeggiator, and a dedicated Drum Track section. The built-in SD Card Audio Recorder also enables multitrack recording of the entire performance (including the microphone input) in digital WAV format at 16-bit / 48 kHz. The Realtime Control section includes rotary knobs and switches for instantly adjusting filter and effect parameters, as well as Quick Layer/Split.

USB Audio Interface, Portability & Power Supply

The synthesizer functions as a bidirectional USB Audio/MIDI interface at 24-bit / 48 kHz, allowing you to record stereo audio directly to a computer without the need for an external sound card. Weighing just 3.8 kg and powered by 6 AA batteries, it offers complete portability for rehearsals, street performances, and use outside the studio.
